Special chapter 3: Reason

Ever since he was a child, Albert cannot stand distortion and disorderly.

Elise knew that fact after watching her older brother many times.

When her second older brother, William, was done playing with his toys, she witnessed how Albert reacted with great discomfort and took the liberty of cleaning and placing the toys in a neat order. After he was done, he has a satisfied expression on his face.

At a young age, she understood that her brother is a meticulous person.

There was a time when she suddenly had an attack and had to drink various medicines. The doctor and maid in charge of her made her drink her medicines while holding on to Albert as the pain was too much for her small body.

And when her attack has calmed down and the doctor and maid left, Albert would rearrange the bottles of medicine in orderly fashion next to her bedside table. He never failed to do this and seeing that everything is in order would make him smile in satisfaction.

He definitely cannot stand disorder.

"Good. That's better." He says to his self before facing his younger sister. He patted her head affectionately before smiling. "I'll stay here until you can finally sleep, Elise."

She weakly nodded. "Hai, onii-sama..."

He tucked her in and wiped the sweat off her forehead and sat on the chair next to her bed while holding his sister's hand, the expression on his face is kind and reassuring.

Albert is not comfortable with the way most people in the Moriarty house are not as meticulous as he is. He believed that it's extremely beautiful when things are all as they should be. He cannot stand even if there's a slight distortion and minor disorder.

Hence why he never let anyone in his room, not even the maids or family members, and he cleans his belongings by his self. But of course, Elise is the only exception that can enter his room, as he truly cares and loves his kind but weakly sister.

The only person he sees as his motivation to live on in this disorderly world.

"Albert-nii-sama... you like things that are in order, isn't that right...?"

He blinked for a moment from her sudden question before smiling a little. "Yes, I do. Why do you ask, Elise?"

She let out a smile. "Because... I like seeing onii-sama smile when he is happy."

That's why, Elise learned to fix things in an orderly manner to make sure her older brother would never make that kind of face.

A face full of discomfort.

At a tender age of six, she would arrange her medicine bottles in order and fix her books in a correct order. She made sure that everything is in their proper places. She cannot rely on her maids so she does everything by herself.

In order to make her brother smile.

In order to make him happy.

Because he is kind to her and the only family that truly cares for her, she wanted to show that she cares and loves her older brother as well.
