"Nii-sama, did I get it right?"

"Yes, but, you were careless with your signs over here. It's a small mistake but it may affect the whole solution."

"I understand. I'll keep that in mind."

The older blonde boy smiled when he saw how earnest the youngest daughter of the Moriarty family is to her studies. True, she may have a private tutor of her own, but her studies were limited due to the fact that her parents didn't want her overwork her mind and self, saying that she only needed to preserve her looks for the near future. Thinking and studying too much will only strain her and affect her beauty, they say.

So her knowledge was only limited in the fields of music, singing, drawing, and dancing and languages, as well as poise, manner and tone of a proper noble lady. However, she's not satisfied with just that.

Elise tried to ask William to teach her more than what girls are usually taught of but he only replied that she doesn't need to bother learning other subjects.

"Your beauty is already an asset, my dear sister. I do not wish for you to be stressed in learning complicated subjects for I fear for your health would ruin your grace."

She cannot accept such reasons.

Of course, she knew that Albert would love to teach her but she didn't wish to bother him for he is busy with his own matters as the eldest son of the Moriarty family.

That's where he came in.

"Thank you for keeping me company, nii-sama." Elise smiled at him after finishing one lesson.

"It is an honor for me, Elise-sama." He smiled back and looked at the stacks of books next to her, "But, please do not force yourself with studying. I agreed to tutor you so I can watch over you in case you spend too much time studying and stress your health."

"I know." She stopped writing and faced him "Also, please drop the "-sama" part. You are my older brother along with Louis-nii-sama now."

He shook his head, "Elise-sama, your naivety is adorable but, it is not appropriate for a lowborn like me to address you without any honorific."

Elise's maid arrived with a tray of tea for the girl. Upon seeing the blonde boy, she snapped at him.

"You peasant! What are you doing here inside Elise-sama-"

"Miranda!" Elise scolded her "That's not how you treat an older brother of mine. He's a Moriarty like me as well so please show your respect to him."

The maid bowed, "Apologies, Elise-sama, but, even I cannot accept that this boy is-"

"Enough." She stopped her from continuing her rudeness against the boy. The young miss sighed and waved her hand "Please leave, Miranda. I appreciate the tea you took trouble in bringing here but... I cannot tolerate your rudeness to him."

"I'm afraid I cannot leave you alone, Elise-sama. I need to stay by your side as what your mother ordered me to." She shook her head as she glared to the boy next to the young miss.

"Then, you can stay outside the room. In that way, you are not disobeying mother's orders."

"Understood, Elise-sama."

When the maid left, Elise breathed a shaky sigh, "I'm sorry for her rudeness, nii-sama."

"You don't have to apologize, Elise-sama. It is to be expected, after all."

"But I cannot accept such treatment. All people should be treated equally and-" she stopped when she felt her breathing tighten and she quickly clutched her chest.
