After reading Elise's letter, the three of them commenced the plan.
Adrien used his status and took advantage of the fact that their family handles harbor business, which means he can have access to one of the ships that they can use for leaving. Cecilia volunteered to take care of any paperwork that needs to be taken care of and give any support she can.
As for Edward, he said that he has an acquaintance that he can ask for help, which led him to confess his real line of work.
"So you're telling me that all this time, the reason you're here in London because you were tasked to observe and investigate someone?" Adrien tells him while they were on their way to meet up the acquaintance Edward mentioned.
"Yeah..."
"And this someone... These certain people you are investigating are Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Lord William James Moriarty."
"Yes..." He slightly looked away after seeing the look on his face. For the first time, Edward could hardly face him. Probably because this was a secret he longed kept from him and his task coincidentally aligned with his relationship with the nobleman.
The blond then sighed before stopping to face him again. "Look, I'm sorry if I kept it from you but my work is something I can't easily tell you and I... I don't want you to get the wrong idea that I... I used you for my benefit... "
Edward, admittedly, didn't want to be hated by him.
Adrien stared at him before letting out a short chuckle. "Look at you getting all flustered for the first time, Ed."
He then pinched his cheek rather painfully than playfully. "Sure, you are insufferable and shameless but you're a good and honest man. Those are what I like about you. I know you for a few years now, Ed. You are not that kind of person."
He let his cheek go and smiled softly. "You had been genuine with your feelings to me, you know? I know you won't do something as underhanded as that. Everything was purely coincidental."
Edward stared at the other man in disbelief before burying his face on his hand. "Jesus Christ, what did I do to deserve someone like you...?"
"You pestered me and teased the hell out of me, remember?" He gave a deadpanned expression to him before gently nudging his arm. "But... Promise me you'll tell me everything. The whole truth of the nature of your job, Ed."
He nodded before engulfing the other to a tight hug. "I will. I swear, I will tell you everything, Rie. Everything you want to know."
Adrien was surprised at first before hugging him back. He could definitely feel the blond's heart beating at the close proximity. Edward rarely loses his cool nor gets flustered/scared and in all honestly, Adrien finds it endearing and adorable. It was always the other way around for them.
"Thank you." Adrien smiled before patting his back. "Come on. We have to meet this acquaintance of yours."
Their agreed location to meet was the old abandoned building near recently built park. When they walked closer, Adrien noted that he was slightly shorter than them, in contrast of what he imagined him to be since he is said to be Edward's senior.
The man introduced his self as Billy and he's from the American force like Edward.
"Looks like we finally met, Adrien-kun." He says with a grin. "My good friend Eddie won't just shut up about you."
The raven haired man glared at his partner. "What were you telling him?"
"Nothing dangerous, I promise." Edward says quickly before clearing his throat. "Anyway, Billy, I'd like you to help us. We're changing plans."
After briefly explaining what they should do, Billy looked a little surprised but he still agreed to help out.
"Sure, I'm up for it. But... Are you sure that plan will work out?"
"It will work out. I know it will." Adrien says. "We know how risky and almost reckless it but we'll still follow. Lady Elise is not to be underestimated."
"Okay then."
The raven haired man was surprised by how easy-going he is to just go along with the plan.
"That's just the way Billy is." Edward tells him, as if reading his mind. "One of the things I admire and hate about him."
"Ouch, it hurts my feelings that my junior hates me." Billy dramatically sighed before laughing it off. "Oh well, that's just who you are, Eddie boy."
"Don't call me that. Come on, let's do this."
