She sunk in her seat, too invested in Gone with The Wind by Margarine Mitchell, Cythnia hadn't known the bell rang.

It was Monday, which were always uneventful. Her first class would be Physics, she despised Physics.

In fact she despised all of her classes. They were so loud, it was unbearable having to sit for 40 minutes in each class and listening to 20 voices at once.

She always had trouble in school, she never really settled in American school and had no assistance to guide her. ELL wasn't much help either the teacher was lazy and nobody else spoke French, Lingala or Kiwahili to help her with translations.

The curriculum was also too fast, one day they'd learn something and the next day it would be a completely different topic.

However, she was privileged to have this opportunity. Back home she'd be married already without a any education above primary school.

________

Theodore walked into the class late, not caring about his tardy. The entire class stopped to look at him.

News spread fast about the new Russian kid who moved into town but they didn't know much about the family.

They managed to live a private life.

There was no denying Theodore's handsomeness. Everyone gawked at the boy who stood 6'6 in front of the class.

He had taken a seat next to the blonde who gave him a "I want to fuck you" look. She was pretty, his type.

Theodore knew he'd have to get used to American customs but for now it seemed easy to him.
