"No matter what happen. I will always protect you, Master"

Such words drifted through the Servant's head. Weightlessly, like a fleeting butterfly that graze at the edge of her memory.

She calmly place a hand on her mask, feeling its presence hiding away her face. Feeling it hiding away her identity, of what she used to be

Her grip on the sword shifted ever so slightly. A moment of hesitation in the otherwise unfazed monstrosity

She's been having these flashbacks lately

Who was she? In the first place, the Servant could not remember anything prior to her summoning, nor where that thought came from

Why does she feel such a strong need to protect Kiritsugu Emiya?

It is something she found herself following without will. Almost like an instinct that guide her sword. That desire to protect him from harm. Rather than instinct, it is like an automatic process her body followed

"Saber?"

Feeling her name called out, the Servant look up. Her Master is standing just ahead, awaiting her to catch up with him

With slow, heavy steps, the woman clad in blackened armor came to his side. He gave her a gentle smile, before looking at the Magus surrounding them

Enemy. That one single instance is enough for her to raise her sword. Current rush toward the blade and build up into a violent whirlwind

It does not matter who she used to be, nor is it important to find out the reason for her devotion. She is a Servant summoned forth by him

Her core roared to life. A torrent of ragin darkness burst forth, brutal as the tyrant who wield it

"InViSiblE Air"

She swung her sword. Almost instantaneously, the air exploded with hear and pressure as the red color of blood fill the hallway.

Screams filled her ears, vigorous and ever-rising in their homicidal melody, before being crushed by an overwhelming silence, a sound of inevitable death

The quiet air was only interrupted as Kiritsugu's shoe clacked against the floor, walking past the mountain of carcass laying in his path

The Servant wipe away the blood that land on her face, letting her Master take the lead once again as she slowly trailed after him

Loyalty is a virtue, and doubt is a sin. To doubt one's lord proves one undeserving of his trust, as a knight may fight without a mantle of his own

She is Saber. Her sword, tainted as it was, is his to use alone

Looking at the carnage below, only one thought went through her head

Why in the god damned hell does her father told her not to intervene?

"Sister, are you alright?"

Shirou was snapped out from her reverie by the concerned voice of her sibling. She turned her head to see a girl with greyed hair and blue eyed girl staring at her

Then she remembered they are currently waiting on the rooftop. Right, in the first place their purpose here has been to disable the ward and let the Servants in

The desolate wind blew through what is left of the ruined building, sending a cold chill down her spine. Shirou rub her arm

"Just a little iritated is all" She replied. Shirou made to turn away, only to realize that she had inaddvertently trace one of the blades in her hand
