As the expedition goes on, more interactions happen between the accompanying Magus. Whether it be born out of curiosity, interest, or boredom, the lull of chatter soon bounced of these individuals who are strangers to each other

"Woah, so you can control your Magecraft energy on the same wavelenght as a Phantasmal Beast to emulate their power? That's so cool!" Kadoc Zemlupus gushed

Svin's face remained stoic, if not a bit proud at the praise he received

"I'm sure you'll reach the same level with enough effort"

"Me? Bah, no way. I come from a third rate family with barely any magical talent. I'm lucky to even be in the same group as you guys" The boy smile

"Not entirely impossible though" Flat chimed in chirpily. His interference caused the boy to jump from surprise

"What do you mean by that?"

"Director Kiritsugu had advocated that one's bloodline does not dictate their talent. Maybe you have a secret overpowered ability that can only be unlocked in extreme circumstances"

Kadoc look at him with his bagged eyes, their icyblue betraying contemplation. Noticing the look they gave him, he shook his head and smile back

"Couldn't be me. Sorry"

If it turns out to be the truth, Fate would be too kind to him. Regardless, Kadoc finally has friends he can talk with

______

"The Magus Killer, I have heard about you..."

Ahead of them were the other volunteers, but at this moment, her eyes were set on the red head before her, as if eyeing a mysterious creature.

How could she not? This is the first time an ordinary Enforcer like Bazett had had the chance to witness what many in her profession would call a "living legend".

Shirou Emiya is the best among them, trained by the Magus Killer. Having unlocked the ultimate Magecraft called Reality Marble, it should be said that she by herself would be considered a once-in-a-lifetime genius from the Clock Tower

To think that an ordinary Enforcer like her and Shirou would get the chance to speak on personal term was already a big motivation for Bazett to join the expedition

"Was my reputation that terrible you'd keep a distance from me" The redhead looked at her "Or you're just waiting for a chance to strike?"

"Ha, a little of both I suppose. After all, miss Luvia said a lot of good things about you. I myself wanted to test if those praises were true" Her fists clenched. The salamander magic imbued in Bazett's glove were struggling not to breakout in a fight this instance

The Enforcer don't seem much too bothered by her words. As if emboldened by Shirou's silence, she fastened her pace to catch up to her and continued speaking

"She said you're the best at a certain type of Magecraft, one that most Magus would consider useless until they saw the areenal you have your disposal, from mysterious artifacts to crystalized legends lost to time. People says you are a walking warhead. Which I suppose isn't that far from the truth"

She grunted, not deigning with a reply

"And then there's miss Gray. The Lost Phantasm sealed inside her would make her Magecraft as potent as a Magus before the Age of Gods. It was only by becoming the Clock Tower's director that your father prevented certain people from turning her into a new Designate"

"Of course, all this growth would be impossible without the Director. I heard he saved you from the last remnant of the Grail War's fallout and then adopt you, isn't that right?" She smiled "What a wonderful father he is"
