Death is an imminent inevitability, but the timeless passage of eternity negate even the most lethal of end. After all, what use is eventuality when it never come to pass?

For that matter, time is more than an ever spreading spiral of which he is the center of. He is where time converges, where Singularities are created and Lostbelts diverge, the genesis and the end of all creation

Everything that had ever happened is only experience in a single timeline, in a single moment of ephemerality in nature where endless possibilities lead to and diverge from. To think all it takes is one change to deter the course of what has been set in stone

He overlook his own corpse from outside the bound of time

"I see, so somebody killed me" He look at his watch "This is rare"

Kiritsugu couldn't find himself to care for his death

It is to be expected. They are not the same person, merely alternate self from another timeline which had came into existence from his death. In summary, they're mere consciousness of which the other him are aware of through a connected mind

So, things like this can be left for much later

He kicked the corpse one last time to make sure himself is dead. Satisfied, the man turned around and cast his spell

"Time Alter"

Reality shift before him. The Magus stepped through the sheen of the universe. Everything become quiet as he returned back to his own timeline

The Association's Clocktower rest amidst the rolling fog of England. Towering above all other buildings in the vicinity, it display a grand architectural piece that has been constructed centuries ago. That is the Director's office located at the top of the building

As Reines admire the scenic surrounding below, she turned to the sound of the Clocktower director coughing to catch her attention

Kiritsugu assume a serious pose, with his hand knitted in front of him

"In seven days I will die"

Reines rolled her eyes. She pour him a cup of tea nonetheless and seat down across from him. Other people might have freaked out, but not her

You get used to it

Kiritsugu smile at her silence. Very briefly, the older man explain the events that happen in the next week. He started the story with some unpleasant info

Chaldea's deal with European magic union. Their excursion into the Reverse side of the world, and his own imminent death

Reines listened to all this with a calm look

"I will need you to make preparations for Shirou and Gray to reach Rhongomyniad. Zelretch will take care of their return per instruction"

"About the matter of you dying" Reines pulled the teabag from her cup "I think we can arrange for your killer's death right now...if you'd wish"

"That won't be necessary" He contemplated "This plan won't reach the desired outcome without me being killed in the first place. Consider it a sacrificial investment"

El-Melloi didn't question his methods nor goals. She only sighed and savored the tea which suddenly tasted so bitter. It will be the first of many sleepless nights to come
