Kat sits up a bit, confused.
KAT
Sorry, them?
ETHAN
You know, your friends. BB, Cassie, Lexi, Maddy. Damn, lots of "ee" in your friend group.
KAT
The boomers were an unimaginative generation. (beat)Besides, I don't know, things are always kind of weird with my friends.
Ethan sits up, attentive.
ETHAN
Weird how?
KAT
Like mostly just involves me and Maddy calling each other whores and sex workers.
Ethan laughs.
ETHAN
Aren't those two things synonymous?
KAT
I mean one is an insult and the other is an occupation.
ETHAN
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you.
Kat moves away, uncomfortable.
KAT
Why would that offend me?
Ethan tries to close the distance by moving towards her.
ETHAN
I don't know, it's just that you're so mysterious and sexy and I don't want you running away again. I just want to know everything about you.
Kat softens a bit and pulls him in for a kiss. The chorus of "affection" aligns perfectly with their kiss.
