A Fight or Flight Thing

INT. BB'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - LATER

"Burden" by Animé plays in the house.

The party has started to thin out a little bit - people are chatting in different destroyed corners of the house, most people are smoking but the music still bumps loudly:

EXT. BB'S HOUSE - BACKYARD ZEN GARDEN - CONTINUOUS

Fezco sits in the sand beside Ashtray who sits on a small bench in BB's Dad's zen garden just off of the backyard lounge area.

The manicured sand and perfectly placed Bonsai trees, lead one to believe that the only people that visit here are the gardeners. Light plays across his face and we see how spent he is.   

  

  ASHTRAY

Aight.

Fezco sits up as Ashtray finishes counting the money.

   FEZCO

How'd we do?

Ashtray sucks his teeth.

    ASHTRAY

I mean not bad, yo, not bad at all.

   FEZCO

But?

    ASHTRAY

But I really think we need to try and move the Fentanyl if you want to make some cash money for your dad tonight. I know you could use it and so could I.

Fezco gets back to his finger drawn zen circles in the sand.

     FEZCO

Fuck man. You know I ain't tryna mess with that shit.

    ASHTRAY

I mean what's the harm, just don't sell it to you know who.

The camera moves quickly off Ashtray's line, from the boys straight through the house and to the front door, which opens.

INT. BB'S HOUSE - ENTRYWAY - CONTINUOUS

Rue walks in and smiles sheepishly.

She's sporting her dad's hoodie, her converse, tweed pants, and a t shirt. She anxiously shifts her weight as she takes in the party scene.

INT. BB'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Maddy and BB are draped all over a couch in the living room. They see Rue approaching.

    

MADDY

Okay, not to be rude, but like I can't keep track if this bitch is dead or alive.

BB hits her vape and exhales.
