(Addie's POV)

A long distance relationship is always tough. But, a long distance relationship where the girlfriend is a mother living in Italy, working for a rival of her British boyfriend, is something else altogether.

Sometimes, it makes me envy Kim and Charles. Those two are perfect together and don't have to worry about balancing work, life, a child and a relationship.

It all seems overwhelming at times. Which is why, I always look forward to the winter break. It was the end of the season, and everyone was gearing down for Christmas and New Year.

This year, Irene and I were hosting the Christmas party. A yearly tradition we had started since Kim joined us last year.

So, Lando, Kim, Charles, Kymara, Carson and Lewis were invited over to our house for Christmas Eve and then new year's eve.

I was very excited.

I set up lights and decorations all around the house, I baked cake, I bought gifts... I basically did it all.

And my excitement went OTT when everyone came over.

It was Kim and Charles who arrived first, hand-in-hand if I may add, then Lando and Lewis, who both flew in from England, followed by Kymara and Carson, who lived close by to each other.

They all came bearing gifts and all sorts of goodies. And I had to shout at Irene to leave them alone.

Of course, she just smiled at me and gave me puppy eyes, till I let her open the huge pack of chocolate Kim had bought her.

God, was my best friend going to get a talking to.

But then again, it was extremely amazing to have friends who supported me when it came to Irene. And since, lot of people had just left after they'd found out about her, my new friends held a very special place in my heart.

After I hid all the gifts and goodies under the tree, I headed to the kitchen, where I picked up the snacks and glasses.

Realising I had too much to carry on my own, I called out to Lando.

"Lando, love, can you help me here?"

"Yeah, coming!"

I heard footsteps, and laughter before Lando turned up in the kitchen.

"What are you doing? Why have you attempted to carry so much stuff at one time?" He asked, taking the glasses from me.

"Thought I could manage." I mumbled, still trying to balance the other stuff in my hands.

Lando kissed my head.

"Okay, come on." He led me outside and helped me arrange all the stuff.

"Are you kidding? I exist as well, you know! I could have helped." Kim said when she saw the amount of stuff we had brought out.

Charles laughed beside her.

"Don't kill her for wanting to spend time with her boyfriend."

A look of realisation dawned on Kim's face.

"Ooooh, sorry!" She smirked at Me and Lando, resulting in the two of us blushing.

"Mommy! Mommy! Come on! It's time for the games! And then the dance, and then dinner and then..." Irene paused taking a deep breath. "THE GIFTS!"

She squealed jumping up and down.

I couldn't help myself, and a huge grin broke out on my face.

"Okay, come on. Let's go."
