After a couple of hours, Itto had finally regained consciousness.

Most of his men had returned to the shrine as he laid down on the ground staring up at the sky.

"Itto come on! It's getting late out I doubt she'll come back!"

Itto only ignored his partner and continued to lay there. Letting out an exaggerated sigh his partner returned inside.

I swung my legs back and forth as I continued to watch Itto.

I knew he was waiting for me.

His arms were behind his head and his eyes were shut.

He had been lying like that for around 2 hours now.

It was tempting to come down from the tree but I was curious about how long he'd wait.

Itto finally sat up off the ground and stretched his arms up.

He scanned the area before looking up and taking in a deep breath.

"Oi, fox lady if you're still around just know I'll find you!" Itto said shouting at the top of his lungs.

I couldn't help but giggle at that as he finally returned to his base.

Once he was inside I jumped down from my tree and stretched my arms out.

I quietly walked over towards the shrine and took a peek inside.

If I hadn't just smashed his face into the ground he would look rather terrifying right now.

Itto sat on a large chair with one leg up and his hand resting against his face.

He looked rather angry and most of his subordinates stayed far away from him.

I smiled.

What a childish man.

I glanced up at the sky. It was beginning to get dark out. There was no way I'd be going back home tonight.

Quietly I transformed back into my fox form and shaking off my fur I hopped up onto the window.

Itto was still awake his eyes focused on the ceiling.

He seemed to be lost in thought. Searching around the room I noticed some of his members heading down an underground passage.

I didn't want to get stuck down there but...

My stomach let out a small growl and I sighed.

This place had better have food.

Jumping down into the shrine I snuck around the ground keeping low and avoiding people. When the coast down the stairs was clear I scurried down.

I instantly hid behind some boxes but stuck my head out.

The room seemed to be a lounge. Like the shrine, it was colored in red and other dark colors. There were couches and tables scattered about. Most people that were once upstairs were now down here taking a break.

I noticed a few people had food with them.

There were two separate hallways leading out of the lounge room.

Which meant one hallway led to food.

Pointing my head upwards I sniffed the air. A strong but sweet-smelling aroma was coming from one of the hallways.

My stomach growled one more time and I sprinted across the room. Considering I was red myself I basically blended in with the room.

I hurried down the hallway and followed the scent to an open door. Nudging the door it slowly opened to reveal a large kitchen.

My eyes sparkled in delight and I ran inside.

I looked frantically for the sweet smell until my eyes landed on something on top of the counter.

My tail shook back and forth and I leaped up.

The moment I touched the counter I felt as if I was going to fall off.

My eyes met another pair who seemed to be equally as shocked.

"Oh."

They blinked a few times and I looked down at the treat in front of them. A few Dangos sat on a plate just waiting for me to take them.

"Would you like some little creature?"

I nodded my head vigorously and he picked up a Dango off the plate.

Well, I couldn't exactly eat these in this form...

A puff of purple smoke and I was back to my other form.

With legs crossed, they dangled off the counter and a sly expression crossed my face.

His eyes grew even wider and I took the Dango from his hand.

"Oh my, how kind."

His body only quivered before the man collapsed to the ground unconscious from the surprise. All I could do was shrug as I took a bite from the Dango.

I let out a small hum in delight and looked back down at the plate.

At least for one night, I wouldn't starve.

After the first Dango was gone I couldn't help but take another and another.... and another...

Eventually, the Dangos had disappeared and after all the sweets I was completely full.

I let my body fall to the side and I rested against the large counter. My eyes flickered as I tried to keep them open, but I was no match for the impending drowsiness.
