DAYS GONE BYE

The apocalypse was something I, nor any other person that wasn't crazy.. had imagined.. well I guess those people weren't crazy after all.. They were right. The end had come, and unfortunately I was still alive when it happened

I was never a city person, although I lived there. A citizen of Atlanta, I had a part time job as a pharmacist at a local pharmacy. Despite living in an apartment, I much preferred being on the farm though. The farm was owned by some close friends of my parents. Unfortunately, I hadn't been to the farm since my parents deaths. I wondered if the dead had overrun the farm

I was always an outdoor person growing up. Shooting guns, and hunting were more of my thing, than dress up and makeup. Camping was fun and just how to survive were all things I had taught myself at a young age

I had left my apartment when I noticed the outbreak. It would be best to be secluded and to survive on my own. Staying in a dense area would be dangerous, and I'd rather not get attacked. While I wandered the outskirts of Atlanta, I ran into a group that consisted of quite a few people. A man, who must have been the leader, approached me

"Do you need some place to stay?" The man asked. I looked at him on guard

"I guess" I said unsure

"My name's Shane Walsh, I'm a cop, I run things here. I'll introduce you to everybody. Those two blonde girls over there are Amy and Andrea. That man with the bucket hat is Dale. Those two guys over there are Daryl and Merle. Neither are friendly, don't bother. That guy is Glenn.. over here is Lori and her son Carl.. we have Jim, Morales, Carol, Ed and Sophia.. oh, and you are?" He asked me

"Y/n" I said

"Glad you're here, Y/n" He said with a smile. Yet, I felt uneasy around the man

"Thanks" I said

"Are you hungry?" The girl known as Amy asked as she approached me with an apple. She held it out for me, waiting for me to take it. I slowly took it and bit into it. I then smiled at her. She gave me a cheery smile before walking back to where she was before

It had been about a month since I settled in. I had become acquainted with everyone except the Dixon Brothers. Merle was a racist asshole, and Daryl didn't play nice with others. So I kept my distance from the two

A group of us ran into the city for supplies. Me and Glenn had seen some guy on a horse walking into the city while we were separated from the group

"What a moron" I muttered. Glenn smacked my shoulder

"Don't be rude" He said

"Watch me" I told him. We watched the guy approach the tank and then run off. A couple minutes later the man had come back. A horde of those walkers or 'geeks' as Glenn called them.. were chasing after him. Of course his exit was blocked by more walkers. He was surrounded

"Well, guess he's dead" I said. The man had fallen off the horse and the walkers began eating the horse. Maybe 20 seconds later, we had heard gunshots going off. I was dumbfounded by his stupidity

We heard another gun shot and then we saw the guy appear out of the tank. Walkers started crawling on top of it and he closed the top as he went back in. Glenn pulled out his walkie and then spoke into it

"Hey, you. Dumbass. Yeah, you in the tank. Are you cozy in there?" Glenn asked. I glared at Glenn

"Oh, so I can't call him a moron but you can call him a dumbass.. hypocrite" I said rolling my eyes

"I mean.. he is though" Glenn says

"I know he is" I say
