INTERNMENT
TOO FAR GONE

We finally approached the prison. Carl opened the first gate for us, Rick opening the second. We drove through. It was dark outside. The headlights of the car illuminated the area in front of us. Tyreese opened the door as the car stopped

"Sasha? How's Sasha?" Tyreese asked

"I don't know. I'm sorry" Rick responded as Tyreese got out of the van

"Get in there. We got this" Daryl said to Tyreese as the rest of us got out. Tyreese ran towards cell block A. I went out into the field and sat down. I laid down on the grass. Feeling it against my back and skin as it swayed with the wind. I looked at the sky. There weren't any clouds. The stars were beautiful. It was honestly a breathtaking sight

It was so peaceful, so perfect, so untouched. It felt like something that had never changed. The stars were unaffected by the hell that takes place on Earth. Sometimes I wish I could be a star, or maybe a cloud. To be able to see everything below me. To be able to drift off and relax. To just be free. To not have to fight walkers just to survive. To not watch your friends and family die and, to just exist

I reached my arm up as I attempted to try and touch the star. I knew realistically I would never be able to. But that wouldn't stop me from try. Just the hope that it might work, that I might be free, motivates me. I know it's childish. I'm aware, but I don't care. I heard footsteps approach. The grass making crunching noises as shoes stepped upon them

"You gonna come inside?" I heard Daryl ask

"No" I said

"Why not?" He asked me

"I don't feel like it. The view is perfect here" I said with a soft smile as I stared at the stars. I heard Daryl clear his throat as he sat down next to me

"You said you wanted to talk when we got back" He said. I sat up and looked at him

"I did say that" I said

"Well, what is it?" He asked

"Were you gonna kiss me when we were in the cell together?" I asked him. He choked on his spit as he looked away

"Oh.. um.. forget about that.." He muttered before making eye contact with me. His words and his eyes conflicted each other. The entire mood changed once more. It was just us. Outside. A nice breeze. A beautiful scenery when you looked up

"Daryl" I said

"What?" He asked. My eyes flickered to his lips. Momma didn't raise a pussy

"What if I don't want to forget about it?" I asked as I leaned closer to him. I could feel him getting more nervous as I leaned closer. He didn't respond. I'm not even sure if he could. My heart was beating rapidly. He didn't get up or move away. Our faces centimeters apart at this point. I could feel his breath on my skin. I stopped myself. Daryl noticed and took the moment to lean in.
