EVOLUTION

We arrived at Hilltop. Though Daryl was gone as soon as he arrived. He went with Aaron and some others to go find Eugene. I knew Maggie had left. We all decided to keep it a secret from Michonne. Rosita was in the infirmary here. With Maggie's absence, Taylor had become the leader here with Jesus and Tara as her advisors. Aaron would go to meet Jesus to update the rest of us about what was happening. Lyra was following Henry around as she still found the boy cute. I had entered the Barrington House, only to run into Taylor. Taylor's eyes widened

"Y/n, oh my God!" Taylor said as she hugged me. I smiled and hugged her back

"Hey, Taylor. It's been a while" I said

"It has, how are you and Lyra? Is Daryl still treating you right?" Taylor asked

"Me and Lyra are fine. Daryl is another thing.." I said

"You're still wearing your ring.. but what happened?" Taylor asked as we sat down on a couch

"Yesterday was the first day I had seen Daryl in five years. He just left Alexandria.. and it's honestly been really hard" I admitted. Taylor put her hand on my back as she tried to comfort me

"My brother is an asshole, he always has been, even when we were younger. I just want you to know that you didn't do anything to cause it. Daryl.. well, he's always had that issue.. when things got too tough to bear, he'd run away from it" Taylor said

"I know, but still.. it still hurts.. you know.. things were going so well, and then.. Rick died and slowly it all fell apart" I said. Taylor nodded to show that she understood

"You don't have to forgive him. If Lee ever did that to me.. I would never forgive him.. If seperating.. is what would be best for you, then you should do it. I don't like seeing my brother hurting.. but he did it to himself" Taylor said. I shook my head

"I don't want to seperate though. I still love him with all of my heart. It's not fair how he has that much control over my heart, you know? I want to make things work between us.. and honestly if Lyra wasn't here.. it'd be much different between me and Daryl.. I love Lyra and she's the light of my world, but I'm not willing to set her up only to be hurt by him.. if it was just me, then it's different.. but not her" I said

"You do what you think is best. Plus I need to see my niece. I want to see how big she is" Taylor said happily

"I think she's still following Henry. That poor boy.." I said

"Why? What's wrong?" Taylor asked

"Lyra.. Oh God.. she's a nightmare" I said. Taylor laughed

"She can't be that bad" Taylor said

"You'd be surprised. That kid's attitude is something else.." I said

"Mom, who is that?" A voice asked. I turned to see a girl who looked to be around RJ's age. She had black hair and beautiful black eyes
