XCIX

ACHERON: PART 1

We all stood on a rooftop. We needed food desperately. Jerry had managed to pop the ceiling window open with his crowbar. I wrapped a rope around my waist. I was then lowered down along with Maggie, Carol, Rosita, Lydia, Kelly and Magna. I saw the ground, it was covered with walkers. They weren't moving but that didn't mean they weren't dead. I began putting my machete through their skulls as the others looked around. Then we heard growling. I kept silently killing walkers. I killed about ten before I caught up with the others. Magna was picking the lock. I had been learning sign language in my spare time. I thought it would be useful especially since Kelly was losing her hearing. Though I wasn't very good. I looked at Kelly and began signing

"Still alive" I signed before pointing to the walkers. She nodded. Carol then pointed at the assault rifles, which made Maggie shake her head. We heard the padlock clang, which means Magna had opened it. The growling continued and we watched a walker move, but it didn't get up. Magna slowly and quietly opened the door. Kelly had her slingshot ready as Magna entered. Maggie got in front of Magna and began to lead the way for Kelly and Magna

Me, Rosita, Lydia, and Carol stayed behind to guard the door. Soon enough they came back with bags full of MRES. Me, Rosita and Carol had tied the bags to the ropes and then signaled for them to be pulled up. Suddenly we heard something snap. We all looked up to see Daryl holding onto the bag that would've fallen had he not caught it. Then we heard growling. We watched the walkers all start getting up

"Son of a bitch" I muttered. I moved towards the walkers as I stabbed them in the skulls. Maggie shot them with her arrows, and so did Carol. Lydia rushed to tie another bag on the rope so could have more food. Once she was done, she used her stick to kill a walker. I stabbed another walker, and then another. God there were so many. Nothing like the horde, but there were still a lot. Maggie and Carol had run out of arrows. Me, Rosita and Lydia took charge as we killed them with our weapons. Then we saw that the archers on the roof were giving us a hand

That's when Carol grabbed one of the assault rifles on the ground and handed it to Maggie. Carol grabbed another for herself. We heard clicking but no bullets came out. They must've rusted or something, so the two looked for more. I inserted my machete into another walker's skull. Kelly and Magna were trapped. Their only exit was on the other side of all these walkers. Then we heard gunshots going off

Maggie had found a handgun that still worked. Once Maggie ran out of bullets, Carol rolled out with an assault rifle and began shooting the fuck out of those walkers. Walkers fell down one by one. Me, Lydia and Rosita made sure we were out of the way. Kelly and Magna had a clear path. They rushed over towards us. Kelly tied the rope around herself. I killed another walker as she was lifted up. Then, Magna went up with the other rope

The rest of us continued to kill walkers. I hadn't had this much of a work out since Alpha burned down Hilltop. More ropes came down. Rosita, Maggie, and Lydia hooked themselves to go up while me and Carol stayed back. She kept shooting walkers while I stabbed walkers. Once they were up, two more ropes came down. Me and Carol went to connect the ropes but something caught her eye. She pointed at a box. If she was gonna get it, I would help her
