Ayanami: *from radio* This is Ayanami reporting, do you read me? Over.

???: We're on a mission. Use your codename

Ayanami: *from radio* Right sorry. This is Citrus reporting, I have a general layout of the base, Over.

???: Good. Then we're ready to move out as well. Rendezvous with us should the opportunity allows

Ayanami: *from radio* Understood, Out.

Miles away from the Base

The mysterious girl that has received Ayanami's report was IJN Kaga, the second ship of the Tosa-class Japanese Battlecruiser converted into an aircraft carrier. Alongside her was IJN Akagi, the second ship of the Amagi-class Japanese Battlecruiser also converted into an aircraft carrier.

Kaga: Ready when you are, Phoenix. Just say the word.

Akagi: Tell me, Kaga, what's the fundamental nature of battle?

Kaga: Dear sister, please, use your codename.

Akagi: To battle is to inflict injury. Battle also invites injury. Therefore, a battle is a mutual exchange of pain.

Kaga: None of that poetry has anything to do with your question of war. I battle to destroy enemies. Plain and simple.

Akagi: *giggles* Well, excuse me.

Akagi held up a black cube, which pulsed ominously with purple energy. Then, several shapes took form in the fog behind them, which turned out to be siren ships ready to strike.

Akagi: Now then, we've waited long enough to begin this war.

With Montana

Montana is still speeding through the ocean at flank speed.

Montana: I'm gonna guess that Ayanami has given Akagi and Kaga the green light. Hell is about to break loose.

Boy, oh boy he couldn't be any more wrong.

Azur Lane Base

Wales was observing an area until she spots several Siren ships coming from the horizon

Wales: The Sirens are on their way! Intercept them! This is not a drill!

Javelin, Laffey, & Unicorn: Right!

The trio soon dashed off just as they entered, Cleveland on the other hand ran to the window to see flames shooting out from the harbor

Wales: Why are the Sirens attacking now? What horrible timing. Coincidence?

Illustrious: No.

Outside of the Base

Cleveland ran out of the dock to the shoreline and jumped into the air, dodging a strafing run from two Siren drones. Cleveland then summoned her ship into her rigging, aimed her turrets, and obliterate one of the drones before landing in the water.

Cleveland: How's that huh? We were developed as the ultimate weapons that are powerful enough to take Sirens down!

The other drone did a rocket barrage on her. Launching 4, they hit the water spraying mist into the air. It was about to make another pass but was blown apart by Cleveland's second accurate salvo. Soon multiple girls jumped into the water, deploying their riggings, and join the fight.
