We cut into our skin because

We're angry
We're sad
We're hurting
We're trying to hide it
We're lost
We're broken
We cut into our skin because
We want to see the scars we feel on the inside
We want to have proof that we're still alive
We cut into our skin because
We're lost for words
And we were left alone

It's all that's left
We're done looking for a better way
We don't talk about "it"
Because we don't trust anymore
