The bird then flew towards his hair, nestling in it.

"If you were to shit in there you will never see the light of day again, I can promise you that." Tommy deadpanned, feeling a shiver on his head.

Tommy cackled.

He decided to name this particular crow "Shroud".

He came by every day, pecking on his window to be let in.

----

Tommy was working at the café as normal.

He was simply wiping down the counters, again.

Or, you could say, he was waiting for Shroud.

Tommy heard pecking and scratching at the window.

Speaking of Shroud, there he is.

There's our fluffy crow boyo

He opened the door to let Shroud in, and he flew in almost immediately.

"What's the rush, Shroud?" Tommy asked, walking over to the crow perched on his till.

The crow simply squawked something.

"What do you mean- Oh my, Shroud what happened to you?" Tommy questioned, rushing over to the crow.

He had noticed Shroud was injured.

Blood was very slowly spewing out from under Shroud's wing.

It was a miracle he was able to fly here.

Tommy lifted his wrist for the bird to perch on, and Shroud did so.

Tommy was worried.

How had he been injured?

Did a cat claw at him?

He healed the crow, lightly pressing at the wound.

The crow chirped, embracing the warmth of his hands.

"How in the fuck did you get hurt?" Tommy scolded, unpleased.

Shroud's beak tipped down.

Tommy was waiting for an answer he never got.

Then, the bell rang.

Tommy looked over to the door to see a man wearing a green jacket, a white porcelain mask covering his face.

It had a smile plastered over it.

Bit childish, no?

Tommy walked behind the counter, allowing the bird to perch onto the till yet again.

"Welcome to Innit's Café? What would you like?" Tommy asked, unsure whether he was cosplaying or this was casual.

"Two Americanos and one Mocha, please." He responded, laying the money on the table.
