The ginkgo tree and the lilac:

Upon my stretched wrinkled bark
I stand tall and wide,
for gritting soil to smoothen my sombre roots.
My vibrant glow appeases the wandering eyes
Seeking safety within my exquisite foliage.
The breeze deafens my cries.
I am the ginkgo tree you pass by
An outlier, ageing by the hour.

Now the white sheets have come
Layering on top of those-
Who reside by the fires
Singing the jovial verse,
riddling faith to the higher.

I stand tall and wide,
I am the ginkgo tree you pass by
counting the blanketed flowers.
I am hiding beneath the soft white glow,
Feeling my bark come and go.

Amid the breast of spring
I count the flowers that grow-
beside me I see a growing lilac fleet.
Peeping from the gritting soil
Awaiting to see the unbarred heads
Awaiting to see the sombre faces full of woe
Awaiting to wander through the cool transparent night
Awaiting to listen to the dirged voices

I stand tall and wide,
I am the ginkgo tree you pass by
residing beside the sprig of lilacs-
Showering my dim golden foliage upon wandering onlookers.

I stand tall and wide,
I am the ginkgo tree you pass by
Let the sprig of lilacs sing you a lullaby.
