THE FORBIDDEN LOVE OF THE HANDSOME PRINCE AND A FAIRY

Once upon a time, in a far far away kingdom, there lived a handsome prince who met a cute and quirky fairy in the Forbidden Forest.

"Who are you?"
"I'm Prince Charming. You?"
"I'm not supposed to talk to mortal beings."
"Oh? So you're a fairy, aren't you?"
"I am. What are you doing here in the Forbidden Forest?"
"I was out hunting with my men when my white horse got spooked by something. My horse took off then I fell from it and here I am apparently in the Forbidden Forest speaking to you little fairy."
"You shouldn't be here. Your kind are not allowed. You will be cursed. You will be punished."
"What about you? Why are you here? Isn't the Fairyland on the other side of this?"
"I'm banished from Fairyland. I've been here for over a century already."
"You're old?!"
"Excuse me. In fairy age, a century is like a youth in your age."
"Oh, my apologies."
"Apology accepted."
"If you don't mind my asking, why are you banished?"
"I broke our sacred rule."
"Sacred rule?"
"Yes."
"What is your sacred rule?"
"I can't tell you that, it's sacred."
"My bad. Sorry. I don't mean to pry."
"It's okay. But you need to leave this forest right away."
"Why?"
"I told you. It's dangerous for a mortal being to be here. You will get cursed."
"What kind of a curse?"
"I don't know. My fairy godmothers just told me that this forest is forbidden and cursed to mortal beings."
"I've been here for a half day already before meeting you. I should have been cursed by then or something."
"Probably. Maybe no one from Fairyland has noticed yet that this forest is intruded by a mortal being."
"Please stop calling me a mortal being. I'm Prince Charming."
"Prince charming??? Is that your real name or title?"
"It's my royal name. That's how my people address me. But if you want to know, my real name in the birth registry is Prince Wu Caesar. Or just Caesar."
"Caesar."
"Yes?"
"Ah nothing. You have a nice name."
"Thank you. My mother gave me that name. So what about you little fairy? What do I call you?"
"I'm Nicky."
"Nicky."
"Yes?"
"Your name is as cute as you." She blushed.
"Thanks."
"Fairy Nicky it's nice to meet you."
"Prince Caesar it's nice to meet you too."
"In our world, when we meet someone, we shake hands with them. So since we just met each other let's shake hands."

Caesar offered his right hand to Nicky. She stretched out her right hand and took his in hers.

As soon as their hands touched each other, the forest shook. Birds flew out of the nests from the trees.

"What was that?!" Caesar asked alarmed at the same time letting go of her hand.
"Oh it's nothing. It just means it's about to get dark soon."

He looked above. The tall trees covered the skies above like a canopy. They were really deep in the forest.

"I need to go back to my place."
"Can I come with you?"
She looked worried. "Um, it's not suitable for your kind."
"Well, it's better than being stuck here alone."
"Okay, I guess."
"Great."
"Let's hurry." She said urgently while at the same time walking faster.
"Why do we need to hurry? It isn't dark yet."
"You'll soon find out. C'mon! Hurry up!"

Prince Caesar quickened his pace and was soon walking beside her.

They walked in silence for a while. They were going deeper into the Forbidden Forest. The roots were thick and overgrown above the ground and hard for them to pass through. After some time and before the last of the sun's rays disappeared, they've reached a water clearing. Without word or warning, fairy Nicky dived into it.
And just when Prince Caesar was about to follow her, the head of a small carp fish appeared. And her eyes were the same ones as Nicky had. The Prince knew at once that it was the fairy he was with and the reason why she was in a hurry. He nodded to the carp fish, which was Nicky, as if to say he understood. Carp fish Nicky swam on the water clearing while the Prince looked for a nice spot where he could lay his head down and rest through the night.
