Author's note: This is a draft for the XiYou Song Series fanfic with tentative title of and inspired by the song "Good night". I'm not in the mood to finish this. So I'm just sharing it here because I think it's a lovely moment.

One night while everyone of us were out celebrating a colleague's birthday, I had too much to drink. I knew I could never hold my liquor tolerance but I kept on drinking anyway.

I woke up the following morning with a heavy headache. Last I knew I was passed out on the resto-bar. When I came in for work that day I asked my workmates what happened and who brought me home.

"Xi Men. He volunteered."
"Eh?!"
"We were surprised too."

Thankfully, I didn't have to face him that day. I was too embarrassed. But I do want to thank him for bringing me home safe and to apologize for inconveniencing him. So I waited until everyone has left except for the two of us.

I knocked on the door of his corner office. He was quite surprised to see me.
"Xiao You, what are you still doing here?"
"Uhm, I want to thank you and apologize for last night."
"Oh? Well, it's nothing." He shrugged. Is it just me or did he seemed uneasy?
"I usually don't drink too much but I guess I was just having way too much fun last night." I explained.
"Everything's good Xiao You," he said.
"Okay, thanks." Since he wasn't interested to have a chat I headed for the door. "Well, goodnight."
"Goodnight," was his reply as I closed the door behind him.
As I gathered my stuff from my table, I was confused by him. He volunteered to take me home last night. And instinct told me it must mean something. But tonight he was a little off and indifferent towards me. Maybe my instinct got it wrong.

Or maybe not.

"Xiao You."

Xi Men was standing in front of me now.

"Do you remember what happened after I took you home?"

"No, I'm sorry." I racked my brains trying to remember but I was just too drunk to even remember a single moment. "Can you tell me what happened?"

I saw some hesitation in his eyes. "Ah, never mind. It's not important. Goodnight." He turned around and went back to his office and closed the door.

Since then something changed between us. He started avoiding me. And our workmates had noticed it too.

They were quite convinced something had happened to us on that night. I really wished I could remember already.

It wasn't until a week later that I eventually found out the truth.

I was going through my phone's gallery when I noticed a saved video recording. Curious I clicked and played it. And here was the answer to my question.

Clearly, I was very drunk but for some reason I managed to do a short vlog of me being carried piggyback on Xi Men. I was humming a silly made up song too.

I don't know how he got a hold of my house keys but he did and he opened the front door, entered with me on his back. The video was shaky at this point as he laid me down on the couch.

I must have put the phone down because I can only see the ceiling.

"Xiao You, here drink this."

I mumbled something incoherent.

Silence.

Snore.

Oh gawsh! Xi Men saw me snoring! Even though it was just me in the room watching the video the fact that Xi Men witnessed me snoring asleep was so embarrassing. That must have turned him off.

More silence. Except my snoring.

Then I can see Xi Men's face on the screen.

He didn't say anything at all.

I was behind him snoring, fast asleep.

He got up, his head just above mine. He eyed the camera.

"Goodnight," he muttered. His lips quickly brushed mine. "My princess."

The video was over after that.

I stared at my phone, touched my lips.

Shocked. Terribly shocked.

No wonder he asked me. But why didn't he say something? Why did he avoid me after?

I wanted to see him right away. I wanted to ask him what it all meant. But all I could do was send him a message.
