Chapter Thirteen: Willow
............

"Chris he's wincing." I frown, as I follow behind Chris and the puppy into our room.

"It's okay, buddy. We're gonna help you." Chris reassures him.

The rain began to pour, with gushes of harsh winds. The palm trees would sway back and forth.

I had difficulty closing the back door from how strong the winds were.

Chris entered further into our resort, gently laying the puppy on the couch.

"Jeezus that storm is really brewing out there." I say, placing my phone on the coffee table as I kneeled in front of the puppy.

Chris was petting their head gently.

"Are they a boy or a girl?" I ask, gently petting them as well.

"I can't check, sweetheart, we need to get them to warm up to us for now."

Chris motions our room, "grab my phone for me?"

I step into our room and grab his phone, hurrying back to him.

He swipes through his contacts.

I watch as he pressed Dr.Deaton's contact, that was Chris's dog, East's vet.

I smile when I remember the great times we had at the park with East and my Chris.

Chris didn't go to school for two whole days when East passed away....

**FLASHBACK: BOSTON, MA: 1999**

"C'mon Y/n, we are going to be late for History class." Bizzie drags me away from the front entrance of our school where the parking lot was.

Bizzie and I took the bus today, because Chris's dad had to take the car in for work, so Chris should've also been on the bus unless he got a ride from Justin.

Last night on the phone he was fine, he told me good night and we spoke for a little bit, as I hid under my blankets on my bed - whispering "i love you" to Chris over the phone to avoid my mom from hearing.

I found it weird when the bus this morning stopped in front of Chris's house and he didn't come out. Bizzie turned to face me, wondering what happened to and I quote, "my lover boy."

So I waited in the front entrance for him, to see if maybe he was taking his dad's car, who knows maybe his dad didn't go to work, or he rode with Justin.

"Bizzie, I am worried. I can't even call him. What if, what if--"

"--he's probably taking a mental health day." She explains.

Justin walks by us and I make sure to grab his arm, "Justin!"

"Y/n!"

I roll my eyes playfully, "Did Chris ride with you today?"

"Nah, he didn't take the bus?" He asks.

"No, he didn't." I frown, now I'm really worried.

_

I rushed to Chris's house right after school, wondering why he didn't attend school.

I knocked lightly twice on Lisa's front-door, when I heard footsteps approaching.

Lisa opened the door, her eyes puffy as if she had been crying.
