The day started off rather boring
I woke up, changed into my uniform, and ate breakfast while scrolling through TikTok.
"Hey Gold, you got mail" Funneh held up a neat envelope in her hand
I turned around
"Again? Bro why you be getting everything from the internet?"
"But I don't even have my card? Why would I get mail?" She grabbed the envelope from Funneh's hand and opened it
"There's a necklace in here, a diamond necklace at that"
"Wait what?" I got up to take a look
Gold handed the necklace to Funneh so that we could see it closely
The necklace was made of gold with a diamond pendant that shimmered with even the slightest bit of light hanging off of it
"Looks expensive"
Funneh handed me the fragile piece of jewelry
"Is there anything else? It would be kinda weird to just send someone a necklace"
"There's a letter that's for 'My love'"
I poked at Gold's shoulder, "oooooh it's your secret admirer"
"okay then, what are you waiting for? Read it!" Funneh said
Gold read
Dear Gold,
The dance was amazing. I couldn't stop looking into your perfect golden eyes
Hopefully one of these days I'll have enough courage to talk to you

"I still can't figure out who it might be.." thinking about anyone who's ever spoken to us, none of them seemed to have shown feelings for her
Maybe its someone we've never spoken to
"I'm sure we'll figure ot out one way or another. Bur for now, why don't you put the necklace on Gold?" I gave Funneh the necklace
She unhooked the chain while Gold moved her hair a side and put the necklace over Gold's head
"Done" Funneh and I stepped back to look at Gold
"Woah.. This secret admirer really knows how to pick good jewelry.."
"Gold.. You look amazing!"
Gold blushed and smiled at the compliments
"We have to show Valerie before we head to school!" Gold grabbed her lunch for the day and headed out the door
"GOLD WAIT UP" I yelled out to her, hoping she'd come back
"She's not gonna listen. Might as well meet up with her there"
"Sure" I looked at the couch and sighed
"She forgot her backpack"
These two were practically my kids at this point with how much I watched over them
