Forgetting

Dark shadows circled around me,  I cried out as I felt something cut my arm.

"W-what is this!"  I called out, terrified, "Where a-am I?"

A crow screeched somewhere out in the distance,  and a sense of foreboding washed over me.

Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, a flock of midnight black crows flew toward me, their beady eyes piercing into me.

"N-no!" I cried out as their talons scratched me. Trails of blood ran down my face and arms, weaving intricate paths, almost as if taunting me about the fearful future that could happen simply because I existed.

As the crows dispersed, I found myself in a wild field, a crimson crescent moon shone brightly in the eerie sky.

A hand grabbed my leg, twisting around, I realized that I was looking at a bloodied face, one belonging to Harry.

"Y-you..." his voice cracked brokenly, "It's all your fault... you killed them... killed them all... and now you're planning on killing me!"

Harry laughed maniacally, his eyes wide in crazed amusement.

"H-Harry," I whispered, horrified, "N-no... it's not true," my breath was now coming in panicked bursts. "I-I would never do this to you!"

"H-hah..." he chuckled, "Look around you dear Rose, you killed them all!"

Scanning the field, my eyes fell on the unmoving bodies of wizards and witches, some, I recognized from the Harry Potter books and movies, but others were complete strangers.

"I-I wouldn't!" I cried, tears streaming down my cheeks in an endless waterfall, "I would never!"

"ROSE!"  I heard a voice yell, the field around me warped, and shattered into shards of blinding light.  I started falling, and faintly heard a voice speaking.

"My dear child, you were never supposed to remember, never supposed to realize you didn't belong in this world."

Shooting up, my eyes flew open, they met frantic eyes, eyes that belonged to my brother.

"What's wrong?" He asked, eyes full of concern.

I tried to tell him about the nightmare I had, but for some reason, I couldn't remember a thing other the sound of black wings beating against the wind.

Harry told me not to think about my nightmare, and that we should get packing for Hogwarts.  Hearing those words instantly brightened up my mood.

I wondered which house I would be put in, Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin?  Pausing, I wondered how I knew about these "houses", I don't recall Professor Snape ever telling Harry and I about them.

Strange, I thought as the image of a crescent moon spectacled man with a long white beard wearing robes popped into my head.  For some reason, he seemed so familiar, yet I know I've never met him before.
