Jade's POV

As I walked into the bakery I saw that Lizzie was already there. She saw me and got up from her seat, making her way over to me with that adorable smile of hers. I opened my arms and welcomed her hug.

"Hey Liz" I greeted. "You looking forward to baking some cake?" Her eyes lit up in excitement. "Yes! I can't wait." She told me. We made our way over to the worker that would help us today. She guided us to the back of the store where they actually make everything.

Both Lizzie and I were amazed by all the machines and workers. Beautiful cakes and other baked goods were waiting to be taken to the front. When I tell you it smelled amazing... My mouth was actually watering.

The lady took us to a workstation full of ingredients and equipment. We each got an apron to avoid our clothes getting covered in flour. Once our aprons were on the worker started explaining what we were going to do today.

"Welcome to CUP bakery ladies! Are you excited for some baking today?" She asked. Lizzie and I both eagerly nodded. I saw Lizzie carefully look at everything on the table while lightly biting her lip. She looked so cute as her eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Great! Today you will bake a Black Forest cake. It has chocolate, cherries and white cream." She started explaining. Once she explained what all the ingredients were we got started with baking. Since Lizzie and I both loved cooking we quickly picked up how everything works.

We both made sure to have fun while baking, throwing the occasional hand of flour at one another. At the end, the cake came out pretty nicely if I do say so myself. We cleaned up the workspace since we made a mess of it and got to take the cake home with us.

Once we arrived at my home I put the cake down on the kitchen island. "You have a beautiful home." Lizzie says as she walks through the living room. She looks at some of the framed pictures that line my walls.

"Where did you take all of these?" She asked curiously. I walked her over to the first one. "All of these pictures were taken during my travels. I like to hang all of them up to remember everything." I explained to her. I pointed to my favourite photo. "I took this photo in Haiti, after the earthquake. The whole country looked like a war zone. This was a moment where the man you see on the left is giving some of his food to the woman on the right. It shows how people looked out for each other back then."

I was reminded of what that trip looked like. It was heartbreaking to see a country in such disarray. So many people were killed because of that hurricane. People lost their loved ones and their homes. This was one of the few nice moments of the whole trip.

"That's incredible. I really don't understand how you do all of this stuff." Lizzie says as she made eye contact with me. "As I said before, I want to tell people's stories, especially of those who are unable to share them themselves." I remind her.

"That's what I admire about you. You look out for the little guy. Not many people do that these days." She tells me. We stand there for a moment just looking at each other. I find myself getting lost in her eyes for a moment.

"Can I kiss you?" I ask her. She nods and I put my hand behind her neck, pulling her in for a long and soft kiss. Our lips move perfectly in sync. After a few seconds, I swipe my tongue over her bottom lip to ask for access. She happily obliges and I explore her mouth with my tongue. After a while, we both pull away breathless, still maintaining eye contact.

We both smile at each other and I pull her into a hug. "How about we try some of that cake now?" I propose. "Yes please" she chuckles as we pull apart and walk over to the kitchen to eat cake for the rest of the day.
