Chapter 36- Finding the Avatar

Sokka observed June a little longer. "Hey, I remember her. She helped you attack us."

"Yep, back in the good old days."

"I'm confused," Nico interrupted. "Did you two have something going on?"

"Of course not." Zuko spat. "She's totally not my type."

"She's giving me Mai vibes." Nico crossed her arms. "So tell me, who really isn't your type?"

"Nico, you're overreacting." Zuko admitted, walking over to June.

"Oh great, it's Prince Pouty. Where's your creepy grandpa?" June asked.

"He's my uncle. And he's not here."

"I see you worked things out with your girlfriend." June said, gesturing to Katara.

"I'm not his girlfriend!"

"She's not my girlfriend!"

"Okay, okay. Sheesh. I was only teasing." June grinned.

Nico eyed June up and down.

"Got a problem pretty face?"

"Is that supposed to be a compliment or a threat?" Nico hissed.

"Whatever you take it as." June purred. "I like you, gotta name?"

"Nico."

"A boys name. Cute."

"Enough," Zuko interrupted. "I need your help finding the avatar."

"Hm." June scoffs. "Doesn't sound too fun."

Zuko slams his fist on her table. "Does the end of the world sound like more fun?"

June chokes on her drink. "Yes, it actually does."

"She is no help," Nico says rolling her eyes.

"I'll do it on one condition." June says.

"What is it?"

"I want a kiss."

"I am not kissing you." Zuko scoffs.

"Don't worry Prince Pouty. I want a kiss from her." June says pointing to Nico.

Nico points at herself.

"Yeah, you, pucker up."

"No way are you kissing Nico." Zuko yells infuriated.

"And why not?" June asks sipping her drink.

"Because she's my girlfriend!"

"You're dating him, for real?" June asks.

"Uh, Yeah." Nico says annoyed.

"Makes this even better, now pucker up princess."

Nico turns her head to see everyone's shocked reactions. She shrugs her shoulders, leaning in, pecking June on the lips.

"Cute." June smirked licking her lips. "We'll chat later."

"Did you like that?" Zuko whispered as he looked like he was about to lose his shit.

"No." Nico neutrally said, trying not to get Zuko mad.

Everyone went outside to see Appa and the shirshu, growling and licking each other.

"Nyla?" June calls out, throwing a steak at the shirshu. "Okay, so who's got something with the Avatar's scent on it?"

Katara quickly rushes over with Aang's staff. The shirshu smells it, but is unable to track him as she covers her nose and groans.
