The Past

-Who's the last client today?-

-Some dude called... No le entiendo ni un mamarracho a la letra de mi mamá- He sighed, trying to read the name but complaining about not being able to read it.

-Pasa a ve'- Marulanda snatched the paper from Bruno, checking the client's list and landing on the last one - Se llama Santiago Romero, he's around our age, he wants a fortune reading for his family's shoe shop and he lives in the middle of the town-  Marulanda recited, raising an eyebrow while reading, she had never heard of him. -Y quien putas es este?-

-Ni idea-

-Is his family new in Encanto?-

-Probably, lately, a lot of new people arrived, seems like the conflicts are still ongoing-

The arrival of new people to Encanto, there was always one rule for the magical town to appear to new people, they must need refuge or somewhere looking for a new better life, it began with Alma and Pedro's sacrifice for all of the people in their old town, including the Salazar's and so other close families, like the Guzman's

-Seems so, we all here were quite lucky to receive the protection of the miracle-

-Yes... We are- Was he? His gift only caused problems, and today's last client was probably like such too, everyone focused on the bad part of the visions as if he could control it, time passes by and even if sometimes he gets good visions, does it even matter to the town? His family? The bad thoughts always breakthrough Bruno's mood.

-Anyway, let's get going, we don't want to make the client wait for more time. Also, you owe me a pandequeso from the last time I went to help you with your readings-

-Oh that's right, the bakery is on our way there, I'll buy it then-

-Nice! Buy yourself one too, you deserve it-

-As if you are going to pay it...-

-How many times do I have to tell you to eat more!? Your mom should be the one saying that, not me-

Why was Maru helping anyway? It's more of a company and moral support thing truly! Most of the time Bruno has to go alone to do visions for clients, and basically, all of it ends badly with the people, for such, having only one friend, but a great one, she always assists him on visions when she's available, makes everything more manageable.

-There you go, ahora estamos a mano-

-Gracias flaquito- Bruno didn't buy himself a pandequeso, but Maru did offer him to bite some of hers, a tranquil stop at the bakery to help the hunger before doing their last vision for today. -Now, we should get going.-

-Definitivamente- He nodded, agreeing with her.

-Still got sand in the pouch?- Even if Bruno had gotten better in the process to conjure visions, he still needed sand and leaves, but didn't need to hold someone's hands all the time during the reading so that the client could see, he was truly getting better.
