When Minho's phone buzzed later that evening, he was surprised. He hadn't expected Jisung to get in touch, not really. There was still a voice in the back of his head warning him that this was a bad idea, but the younger boy had grazed Minho's only sweet spot when he'd told him how depressed he was alone in the dorm.

[19:42] han jisung : hey hyung! its jisung. han jisung, your roommate. just finished studying if u still wanna eat? but obvs its ok if not :)

Minho didn't answer the text. Instead, he flicked quickly to Jisung's phone number in his contacts and pressed dial.

"Jisung? There's a cool place that does great fried chicken not too far from the dorm. Are you still at the library? I can pick you up."

"Sure, hyung. I'll wait outside."

The line went dead and Minho grabbed his car keys. He was outside the college's library in what seemed to be minutes, the engine idling and one hand tapping away at the steering wheel. The car's headlights illuminated Jisung as he stepped out from the building and winced against the bright lights. Minho grinned and dipped the headlights.

"Nice ride," Jisung whistled as he slid into the passenger seat. "Why do you live in the dorms, if you can afford a car like this?"

Minho shifted the car into gear and pulled back out onto the road.

"Company car. I need it for work."

"Will you ever tell me what you work as? It's starting to feel ominous," Jisung commented, glancing over at Minho.

They slowed to a stop for a red light and Minho met Jisung's eyes. He held the younger boy's gaze for a moment before Jisung rolled his eyes and dropped the question. Minho smiled, seeming all too smug.

"I meant to ask. Last night, at the party. Where did your friends go? The little blonde, and... whoever else?" Minho asked, the question seeming to come from nowhere.

"Oh, you missed me getting an absolute earful from Felix after you left this morning. I was with him and Kim Seungmin. Apparently they'd sat me down on a sofa and gone to get me some food, and when they came back, I was gone. Felix said he'd eventually found Hyunjin who said that I'd left with you. I think Felix was... surprised. To say the least. And then I think Seungmin went home and Felix left with Hyunin."

Minho's face pulled up into a grin. "Oh, I'm sure he did."

Jisung cocked one eyebrow but allowed Minho's comment to dissolve into silence. That was Felix's business.

"So where are we going?" Jisung asked. He was toying with the radio, flicking between stations trying to find something he liked.

"Stop!" Minho yelled suddenly. One hand had reached out to grab Jisung's and he pulled it away from the radio, a frown on his face.

Jisung froze. Minho still had his fingers wrapped around Jisung's knuckles. The younger boy cowered slightly, confused as to what he had done wrong. His fingers trembled in Minho's gasp.

"What?" Minho pouted suddenly as he dropped Jisung's hand and returned his own to the steering wheel. "You skipped my favourite song."

Jisung was silent for a moment before he breathed out a laugh that he didn't realise he had been holding in and rested his head against the cool glass of the car's window.

They arrived at the restaurant and Minho ordered food for them both. Jisung was starting to wonder if this was a date. Surely not. Dates had to be consensual, right? He didn't remember agreeing to a date. This was dinner between roommates.
