Chapter 3- Classy

Josh's POV

I had fallen asleep when I first got back to the bus but was woken up by Sam and Sloan having a yelling match outside my window. Her, Jake and Sam were in some kind of weird love triangle, and it was a disaster. After I was woken up by them my brain wouldn't quiet itself again. I had thought Rhiannon was flirting with me, then I saw her with Nick, and then she seemed interested in me again. My mind was racing as I tried to decipher her ways. I had known her for one day and was already infatuated with the thought of her. Her beautiful face, dotted with freckles, the way her hazel eyes danced around when she realized she had stunned me with her 'pet' comment. It wasn't just her looks, her confidence and mannerisms were intoxicating. I was in too deep. I suddenly heard some rustling in the bus kitchen, I opened my bunks curtain and saw Sloan making some coffee. I slipped out of my bunk and looked at the clock, it was 5am. Sloan turned around when she heard me walking towards the kitchen,

"Sorry, did I wake you?" She asked as she quietly sipper her coffee

"No, I just couldn't sleep." I paused as I ran my hand through my hair, "What about you? Why are you up so early?"

"I want to go get some picture of the sunrise, There is a nice little nature trail right around the corner that should take me to a good spot." she responded as she finished her coffee and put the mug in the sink

"That sounds really nice, do you mind if I come? I could use some scenery to clear my head." I sighed

"I understand that, Of course you can, but you have to hurry so we can get there before sunrise," she said as she slipped on her jacket,

"Sure thing," I quickly put on some pants and pulled a sweater over my head, "Ok, I'm ready, lets go." I said as I put on my last shoe

It was still dark when we stepped out of the bus, but while we followed the trail the sky started to change to a deep blue color.

"So Josh, what did you need to clear your head of?" Sloan asked as she walked beside me, "I mean you don't have to tell me but if you want to you can." I took a deep breath as I thought about my answer

"I just have a lot in my brain, I am starting to get feelings for someone and I'm playing peacekeeper between Jake and Sam constantly it feels like." I kicked a rock as we walked,

"Yeah you and me both," I gave her a confused look thinking she was referring to the feelings part, "OH! Just the peacekeeper part" She added. I laughed out of relief and nodded. "Josh, why don't you just tell Rhiannon you like her? Since when are you shy about girls or feelings?" We had reached the lookout point and we both stopped, Sloan looked at me as she waited for an answer, she was right, I had never been like this over a girl before.

"I don't know, it just scares the hell out of me how much I already like her, What if I tell her I like her and she doesn't feel the same." I sighed as I thought more about it

"Then it would be her loss," She gave me a soft smile, "But I don't think that will happen, I bet shes just as crazy about you."

"You can't know that for sure though,"

"Well tell you what, how about I ask her to come out with us after the show tonight." Sloan suggested

"You really think thats a good idea after what happened last time we went out?" I said in reference to a few nights prior when Sam had gotten drunk and him and Jake got into a fight over Sloan. The last thing I needed was Sloan to be in the middle of another fight.

"It should be fine me and Sam had a little talk." She said with an eye roll

"More like a yelling match," I said shooting her a knowing look, She quickly turned to me with a surprised look, knowing I had heard, "You were right outside my window Sloan, but don't worry I won't say anything. Its finally somewhat peaceful and I'm not going to fuck that up, plus I think y'all needed to talk." she nodded in agreeance, she wrapped me in a hug
