Aurora's wand: 12 inches, rigid flexibility

Core: Sea Serpent Scale

The sea serpent is an aquatic creature found in several seas around the world including the Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean Sea. Reaching over a hundred feet long with a horse-like head and snake-like body, the sea serpent is a fearsome looking creature. Despite this, no Sea Serpent has ever been known to hurt a human, despite Muggle stories of encounters with the beasts. It rises in humps out of the water as it swims.

Much like the creature the scale derives from, owners of this core may appear more ferocious or intimidating than they are. These witches and wizards are a primarily quiet folk, who enjoy keeping to themselves. Small talk and gossip does not hold their interest.

They are more interested in the world around them, especially plants and creatures. As such, they can come off as a bit cold or misanthropic (at their worst). However, they are always willing to lend a helping or healing hand to anyone. Caring little for politics or taking sides, they will help others regardless of viewpoint, group, or any other typically divisive factor.

Wands with sea serpent scale certainly pack a punch, but utterly reject being used for Dark magic or any magic that hurts others unless it's self-defense or to protect others. They are excellent for healing but adapt to most forms of magic much like how the sea serpent adapts to diverse bodies of water.

When performing magic, wands with this core will emit bone-white and turquoise ripples. The scent of sweet lime, ocean waves, and vanilla clings to this wand.

When touched without the permission of the owner, wands with sea serpent scale are known to give out an electric shock.

Wood: Camphor Tree

One of the most explosive wand woods available, camphor wands are highly prized in Japan, Korea, and China. Their owners often have fierce tempers and strong wills. They love an adrenaline high and are willing to try anything once. They are not too stubborn about their beliefs, and are willing to compromise if given proper material or intellectual incentive.

Many owners have an energetic appearance, and put their all into their current pursuit. They may have trouble finishing products if they become bored or think of a more interesting pursuit. A bit abrasive, it can be hard for them to make friends. Despite their gruff appearance, they do have a talent for attracting and calming magical creatures.

There is talent for explosive magic, and forge-based magics.

Embellishment(s): Silver

Silver as an embellishment helps to encourage its owner's patience and ability to persevere. It exudes an air of serenity, and acts as a calming presence. It is known for its role in boosting healing the mind and psyche, efforts in astral projection, as well as any and all magics to do with love. Occlumency is another area where silver shines its brightest.

Elementally, silver is lunar and water based. Thus its powers are enhanced when in contact with light from a full moon. Moonstone and silver are well matched and make for a potent pairing.

Caution should be exercised as silver will absorb the other embellishments' properties. If not cleansed from time to time, or if there are simply too many embellishments, the silver may react violently. This can result in the metal cracking the wand to the point of no return.

Silver will also refuse to bond with a wand that belongs to an owner it deems too power hungry or apathetic.
