Aurora had managed to avoid Harry for the rest of the day, as did Ron. In class she put all of her attention towards the various lessons and spent her lunch by the Black Lake studying the new wand cores discovered that summer and trying to keep her mind off of everything going on. Overall it was a peaceful day.

Until Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Professor Moody stood in front of the class, his magical fake eye scanning each and every one of the students carefully, "Today each of you will go under the effects of the Imperius Curse."

A few students gasped, some shrunk into their seats, and Hermione raised her hand, "But you said they're illegal, Professor."

He gestured for everyone to stand, motioning the students to stand around the edges of the room as he moved the desks away from the center of the room with a flick of his wand, "Dumbledore wants you all taught what it feels like." The bright blue fake eye locked onto Harry, "Better than learning the hard way – when someone's using it to control you completely." Aurora's eyes narrowed. Something was off about him. Every time he was in her presence that dreadful feeling returned to her stomach, "I'd like to see if any of you can resist it's effects."

With that he moved on to staring down another student, beckoning them to walk into the space in the middle of the classroom. One by one each of them did odd things, Lavender Brown squawking like a chicken, Neville performing a gymnastics routine, Hermione hopping up and down while singing the national anthem. When it came time for Harry to go, the class stared at him like wild animals. They wanted to see the chosen one falter.

"Imperio!"

What happened next was a bit confusing for all who watched. Harry's face twisted up and he seemed to be at battle with himself. Somehow, of everyone in the class, he was resisting whatever Moody had told him to do. Big surprise there.

His battle ended quickly, though, when he fell into a desk and crashed onto the ground,

"That's more like it!" Moody's voice boomed, "Look at that... Potter actually fought it! Very good Potter, very good. They'll have trouble controlling you!" The entire class rolled their eyes, fed up with the magnificent Harry Potter excelling at something none of them had a chance of doing themselves.

Moody pointed to Aurora next and she made her way to the center of the classroom where everyone else had stood. Her eyes locked with Moody's and a grim smile appeared on his face.

"Imperio!"

Immediately, his voice echoed throughout her mind: Shift.

Her head tilted to the side, what does that even mean?

The voice spoke again: Shift.

Her hand twitched and when she looked down she could see her nails start to slowly elongate. She looked back at the Professor, who watched with glee. As her eyes began to darken and her pupils dilated she fought against the voice in her head, don't you dare. I will not shift. I will not shift.

Shift, NOW! The voice screamed at her.

Taking a deep breath, Aurora fought every single part of her body trying to turn into her animagus form. She dropped to the ground, her hands clutched close to her body so no one would see what was happening.

And then the voice stopped. Her eyes returned to their regular stormy grey and her nails retracted into the short mess they always were. She had full control and stood wearily.

Moody, who had a deep frown on his face, spoke, "What a shame Ollivander. Couldn't even stop a command to fall on the floor." Her eyes widened, he was lying about his command. But why? "Next!"
