"Cher, you're phone is ringing!"

I rush into the kitchen where Mom and Dad are and quickly pick up my phone.

"Who the hell is Sam?" Dad asks me, raising his brows.

Mom and I give him a look before I answer the phone and put it to my ear. "Sam?" I ask. "What is it?"

"We got him," he says.

"You're shitting my dick."

"Nope," he says on the other line. "We know where he is, we just need to get to him before it's too late. You got something to get us there?"

"Let me get my shit. I'll be at the tower in five minutes. Start getting to the bottom."

I hang up the phone and put it down, running into my old room to get my bag and change into my suit.

I call Dopinder and tell him to meet me at the tower, then hang up and grab the rest of my things.

I'm still living in Fuck Tower, which I still get eye rolls for calling it that. But I came back to my parents' apartment for a visit. Even though we live a few miles away, I don't see them that often. And I didn't want to come back. Not now. But Cap and Sam insisted that I needed some time off.

I walk out of the apartment in my suit, minus the mask for the time being, and with my bag on my back, telling my parents sorry, I love them, and goodbye. Then I rush outside and put on my helmet and get on my motorcycle, starting it up. I get on the road and drive to the tower.

Even during us fighting the robot Ultron, I still looked for Bucky Barnes more than Sam and Cap did. I spent every waking moment trying to track him down.

I knew he was still out there.

HYDRA didn't go down with those ships. And HYDRA might still be controlling him in some way. But I'm not going to let them win. I don't care that this man might be evil. I don't care if there's no hope left for him. And I don't care that I shouldn't care.

Because I do care, and I'm holding myself to it that I do right by him.

I never stopped searching these past few months. I would stay up for days on end looking for any sign of him. While Nat and Cap were busy training the new wave of Avengers, I was going out to find a trace.

So far, I've gotten a lot of false alarms and a few that are true. But he was gone before I could even step foot where he did. He's sneaky, and he knows how to go around and not leave a trace.

I get to the tower and get off my bike as Sam and Cap walk out of the building. Dopinder's taxi stops in front of the doors.

"Get in," I tell them, getting in the passenger seat as they share a glance and get in the back.

"Hello, Miss Shot, I see you have company," Dopinder says, smiling and nodding back to Cap and Sam. Sam nods, trying to look like a badass, and Cap closes his eyes and puts his lips together, nodding. "Where are we headed today?"

"Sam?" I ask, turning around.

Sam takes out his phone and looks down at it, giving it to me. I show Dopinder. He furrows his brows and nods before starting to drive.

"Step on it, D," I tell him, making him drive faster. I give the phone back to Sam. "Look, I know a place not far from there. It's an old cabin my parents and I used to go to when I was a kid. Completely abandoned in a big blizzard that happened a few years back. If we get him, we can go there and make sure nothing bad happens to him."

"As long as he doesn't go on a killing rage again," Sam says. Cap and I share a look in the rearview mirror.

"Hey, by the way, you still know Russian, right?" Cap asks me. I nod. "Good. Because we might need a translator."
