Always and Forever

Y/n POV:

I could feel myself almost falling asleep while Nat gently patched up my wounds. 

I hissed a little when she put the burning rubbing alcohol on my stomach. She stitched me all up in silence. Neither of us said anything.

After she put a band aid on me she finally looked up.

"I'm so sorry, Natasha. I-" is what I said but before I could finish my sentence her lips closed in on mine.

She pulled away. "Don't be sorry, darling. I overreacted and I should have listened to you first."

I nodded slightly and she helped me up and gave me one of her pajamas.

"Here put that on" I quickly changed and got into bed.

Natasha was about to leave when she turned around again.

"Can I maybe stay here?" she asked a bit shy.

"Of course. I mean it is your room after all. Come here" I moved over to one side of the bed to make space for her and she got in.

I cuddled into her embrace, finally feeling safe and sound again.

I felt myself drifting into sweet sleep while Nat gently stroked my hair.

Natasha POV:

I woke up in the morning next to Y/n and just seeing her peacefully sleep in my arms calms me down and makes me happy.

With a sigh I laid back into the covers. It's Christmas eve today so no one from the team had to work.

I closed my eyes again and waited for Y/n to wake up. About ten minutes later after I drifted back off into sleep, I was woken up by the touch of soft lips on my cheek.

"Good morning, beautiful" Y/n sweet voice rang through my ear. "Merry Christmas!" 

She got out of bed and I watched her as she walked towards the door. "Be right back"

I was still laying in bed when she came back after a few minutes holding two sweaters.

"Here" she threw the sweater onto the bed my eyes widened as I recognized it "The matching Christmas sweaters we got on our mission together in Ohio. You remember?" she smiled.

I looked at the piece of clothing in my hand a bit confused "That was like ten years ago. How do you still have them?"

Y/n shrugged her shoulders. "I packed them into my suitcase back then before the house exploded. And after I escaped Hydra I didn't know where to go so I went back there." 

I looked at her. I couldn't believe she had them or that she went back there. I mean it's just two dumb sweaters but I remembered the exact moment we bought them together one day before Christmas. "Why of all things did you go to Ohio? It's not exactly the last place Hydra would look for you."

"I don't know. It just felt like the right place to go" she looked down at the sweater in her hands. "It was the place I saw you last. I guess I thought it would help me get my memories back after Hydra brainwashed me." 

I was silent as I remembered our last mission together in Ohio just shortly before we got separated and I escaped and left her behind.

"I was looking for you and since that was the last place I saw you, I went back there." she sat down next to me but I couldn't look her in the eyes.

I just stared at my hands that were fidgeting with the sweater in my hands. "You were looking for me?" 

"Yea. You were like the only person I knew I could go to but I couldn't find you so I thought you were dead" she gently grabbed my hands and I finally turned to look at her feeling guilty for ever leaving her. "But I'm glad I found you now" she gave me a sweet smile before she stood up and put the sweater on.
