"Come on, you need to witness it too! It's life changing" Kyle sung as he dragged me back inside after hearing James' bike pull in
"Kyle, I've seen him get told off enough times" I laughed as he pulled us down on to the sofa
"Who is getting told off?" Piper asked smiling in my direction
"James got detention" Kyle cheered making me roll my eyes
"Excuse me?" Deborah said walking into the room
"James!" She yelled the second James walked through the door
James threw his hands up to his to cover then the second his mum started to bellow
"Christ Mum, what" He said taking his leather jacket off and hanging it up
"you got detention on the first day!" She yelled swatting him with the tea towel she had in her hand which only made Kyle find more enjoyment out of this
"You not even gonna ask what for?" James asked managing to find a safe distance to his mum so that he couldn't get hit again
"Some guy grabbed Riley's ass. I wasn't going to sit ideally by letting his disrespect her like that was it!" James said making his gaze shift to me
"No girl should be disrespected like that but especially not Ri" He said making his mum nod in agreement
"As for you, you little shit! Keep your mouth shut" James growled after seeing his mum was out of the room and wouldn't bollock him

The next day off school went well. I mean there have been no ass grabs, no fights and barely any attention
or at least so I thought
"Riley right?" A unfamiliar voice said coming to join me at my locker
"Uh yeah?" I asked turning to see the blonde smiling in my direction
"We have English together. I'm that annoying new guy" He smiled and I chuckled
"Nathan right?" I asked and he nodded smiling again
"So I was wondering, could I take you out sometime?" He asked, I scoffed a little. Shock mainly, this was certainly a first
I glanced across the corridor briefly to see James stood there with a raised brow as if he was listening in
"Sure, I'd like that" I smiled taking our my phone to give him my number
"Alright, great. I'll shot you a text later" Nathan said smiling before leaving
I stood there for a moment, taken back by it all. It was so weird and new. I was in shock
"You did not just do that" James said now standing where Nathan had once stood
"What?" I asked wishing Kyle would hurry up and get out of English
"You did not just agree to go on a date with him" James said clearly getting a little agitated
"I think you'll find, I did" I said closing my locked resting my books on my hips
"Ri I ain't playing" He warned and I nodded
"Neither am I James" I said making him narrow his eyes at me
"you don't know the first thing about dating Riley. You've never had a boyfriend" He said as I started to walk away
"What better time to start then" I said watching as James caught up to me
"No not a time to start" He warned making me roll my eyes
"James. I can do what I want" I said before James chuckled making me stop
I turned to see him stood in the middle of the corridor smirking while chewing once again on a tooth pick
"Yeah, we'll see about that" He smirked raising his hands up in surrender walking away
I narrowed my eyes at him watching as he turned his back to me to continue walking away
There was nothing James could do to stop this, I'm my own person. End of discussion period.
