"I thought we had plans tonight?" I asked as we sat in Kyle's room for the fourth time in a row where he is bailing last minute
"I know Riles, I know but Jessica wants to go out" He reminded me
"What happened to no girl or guy comes before your best friend?" I asked and his eyes softened looking at me
"Are you telling me not to go?" He asked but I sighed shaking my head
"no no, Go Kyle, go have fun" I said offering him the small smile I could 
"Are you sure because I'm serious Riley, say the word and I'll cancel" He said but I shook my head
He wanted to go and I wasn't going to stop him from having a good time 
Jessica seems to be making him happy and at the end of the day that is all I care about

Kyle hadn't long left and I was gathering my things to head out too, it was Wednesday so it would usually be our movie marathon day but instead he's going out to the movies with Jessica
I love that he is happy don't get my wrong
But part of me wants my best friend back

"You okay?" A voice said as soon as my hand touches the door handle, I quickly wipe a tear that had slipped before turning to give James as much as a good smile as I could
"Yeah" I said opening the door
"Ri, what's going on?" He asked looking around before coming closer to me
"Where is Kyle? Isn't this your dorky movie thing day?" He asked and I nodded with a small pout
"It is but he's got a date with Jessica so it's whatever" I said attempting to leave again

James followed me out to the driveway trying to stop me with every step I took
"Why don't we go do something?" James offered and I furrowed my brow at him
"No no it's okay" I said still trying to leave but James kept on pulling me back
"Trust me?" He smirked, I bit my lip a little wanting to accept but still a little cautious
"What do you have to lose?" He smirked again handing me a helmet to his bike

I shook my head at him taking a big deep breath in before taking the helmet off of him
"shake your head all you want Peanut, you'll be hooked after this" He chuckled getting on the bike making sure I was securely behind him 
And with that we were off

When I used to see James on his bike, I always thought he had a death wish but now I get it, now I get the thrill of feeling the air whipping around your making your way to wherever it is you are going 
It's almost like facing all your problems face first letting them go flying behind you 

"Let go" James whispered as we headed up a hill at some fast speed
"What?" I asked a little concerned
"Trust me Ri, Let go" He said tapping my hands 
I wasn't sure on whether this was a good idea, what if I came flying off? I'd be dead
Gripping James a little tighter to look behind up
"Trust me Riley" He said, I nodded into his back before slowly removing my arms from around his torso
"Now put those arms up" He smiled
I did as he suggested and It was amazing
It felt like I was flying, it felt like I was unbeatable
God how it wanted to feel like this more often 

James I ended up at the top of this hill in the middle of nowhere but you could see the entire town, from my house all the way to theirs. It was incredible
"See, I told you to trust me" James said picking at the grass as he sat next to me
"What are we doing?" I breathed out making James look at me confused
"Currently we are watching the sunset" He chuckled making me shake my head

"James, do you realise how complicated things will get if people find out" I asked 
"find out what?" He asked
"That I'm another notch in your belt"I said turning James eyes dark
"Don't" he muttered
"It's true" I said
"Riley, you aren't just another notch in my belt. You aren't like those other girls" He said looking at me with soft eyes
"You've never been like those other girls" He muttered throwing his little pile of grass away

"Do you think I meant for this to happen? Do you really think that I had planned to start having feelings for the girl I watched grow up?" He asked grabbing my attention again
"Do you think I planned any of this?" He whispered looking up at me 
"James" I whispered
"Everyone sees me as this stupid dick who fucks around with girls but I only did it to stop the thoughts of you creeping in Riley" he grunted making my breath hitch 

"You're always in my fucking head no matter who I am with" He said, I leant up balancing on my knees so I was his height
"So don't you dare compare yourself to those girls, you are so much fucking more" He whispered cupping me cheek before crashing our lips together

"So much fucking more" He said pulling away to look at me with a smile on his face
