Pietro Maximoff- Will I ever be able to walk again?

Me and my boyfriend, Pietro, and his sister, Wanda, are fighting along side the Avengers trying to defeat the monster we are fighting. The monster is a giant lizard. Suddenly, I see my boyfriend get thrown in the air and it punched so hard that his body goes flying onto the floor. "Pietro!" I scream running to him. "Man down! I repeat man down! I'm taking Pietro back to the jet to Bruce!" I yell into my ear piece.

Steve gives me the okay. "Pietro? Darling can you hear me?" I ask softly. "Mhm." He mumbles. "Where does it hurt?" I ask him stroking his hair. "Nowhere..." He whispers panicked. "That's Good! Why are you panicked?" I ask. "Y-y/n I can't feel my legs..." He whispers. My heart breaks hearing his words. "I can't feel my legs!" He screams sobbing. My heart shatters as he screams. "Shh, it's okay I'm here. You're going to be okay honey." I soothe holding his hand.

Suddenly Wanda comes to my side. "What happened?!" She asks panicked. I turn her away from Pietro and link our minds. "Wanda the crash impacted his back hard. I think he has damaged his spinal cord, which means he might be paralysed. He says he can't feel his legs." I cry in my mind. She gasps.

"Wanda..." Pietro reaches for her. "I'm here brother." She soothes. "Wanda can you lift him? I know that if I try and lift him it will hurt him." I ask. She nods and flicks her wrist making Pietro float. We run back to the jet bringing Pietro with us and we see Bruce.

"What happened?!" He asks worried. "He was thrown and had a hard impact. Bruce He says he can't feel his legs." I cry. His eyes widen. "I need you to get him to lay on his stomach." He says immediately. He rushes to put on some rubber gloves.

Wanda turns him over gently with her magic laying him on his stomach. "I need his shirt off." Bruce tells us. I nod and flick my wrist making the shirt he is wearing disappear. I gasp at the sight. Pietro's back is littered with bruises. Wanda starts crying and turns to me. I pull her into my arms and rub her back.

As Bruce examines Pietro, Wanda and I hold one of Pietro's hand each. Finally Bruce is finished and he looks at me and nods his head to the other side of the jet, signalling he wants to talk. I walk over to him. "So?" I ask hoping nothing serious has happened. "Y/n... he has damaged his back severally. He only has a 50% chance he will be able to walk again." Bruce whispers to me sadly. I gasp and cover my mouth. I cry a bit but wipe my tears away. "I'm sorry." He hugs me.

I walk back to Pietro and crouch in front of him. "Pietro, we need to talk." I say softly. "What's wrong?!" He asks panicked. "Pietro, Bruce has just told me what's wrong with you. He told me you have severally damaged your back and that..." I trail off sadly. "What?!" He ask wanting the final answer. "Darling, he says there is only a 50% chance of you ever walking again." I tell him. In that moment his heart stops. "I won't be able to walk again?" He repeats. I nod. He sobs and I kiss his head repeatedly. "I'm sorry. I'll do anything in my power to help you, I swear." I vow.
