A FRESH START, that was what the Valley was supposed to be for Shane Brand and his teen daughter Vienna Brand. After years of unluckiness, and danger it seemed like the universe finally granted them some sunlight by offering Shane a high paying job at one of the LaRusso car dealings.

It was a fresh start, with a new house, new jobs and a new school. And yes, I said jobs. Vienna Brand got herself a summer job at a record store, that was weirdly enough next to a karate dojo. Cobra Kai, it was called, a pretty badass name for a dojo Vienna had to admit.

"Alright, Vi, here we are," Shane smiled as the two got out of the car after a three-hour ride. "Our new lives." Vienna removed her headphones and looked at her new house, it wasn't huge or anything, but it also wasn't small. It was just right. It was better than her old place.

"To our new lives." She sighed as her dad wrapped his arm around her shoulders for a side hug. Vienna walked around the house she would be calling home. It was full of boxes and the walls were plain. She walked up and found the door that was labeled 'V's room'.

It was plain, full of boxes and did not welcome Vienna. The only sign of personality was the box that said 'fragile'. A sigh of relief escaped Vienna's lips when she saw nothing inside was broken. All her mom's stuff was safe and sound.

VIENNA PARKED HER bike and started making her way towards Spinning Discs, the record store she would be working. This was going to be her first job and music was blasting in her ears to calm her nerves. She was, however, so caught up with her music that she didn't notice the group of kids and teens standing in her way, and she definitely didn't notice the person she walked into.

"Hey, watch it!" They sneered as Vienna staggered backwards but caught herself and removed her headphones. She went into defense mode looked up and was met with a boy her age who had a blue mohawk while clenching her fists. "Oh, wait you're a girl." He added quickly.

"Which means?" Vienna shot back annoyed and unclenching her fists. While the mohawk dude scoffed the boy next to him chuckled. Vienna looked at him and couldn't help but think he was attractive. Dark hair and soft eyes were always her weakness.

But a thing that caught her eyes the most was his composure. He stood very confidently, yet she couldn't help but sense that it was all fake. She would know, she was great at faking confidence.

"I'm Hawk. So, you thinking about joining Cobra Kai?" Hawk asked, trying to redeem himself.

"No, I'm thinking about getting to work," Vienna replied and sent the two boys a fake smile before making her way over to Spinning Discs.

"Well, she's something else." Hawk scoffed lightly while Miguel watched how the nameless girl disappeared into the store next to the dojo.

"Yeah, something else." He agreed.

Working at a record store wasn't that hard. All Vienna really had to do was make sure the records and CD's were in alphabetical order, turn the records to the other side when the side that was playing was done, help customers and work at the cash register. Her boss was nice too. The store was owned by an old couple, Mr. and Mrs. John, who clearly held a lot of love and passion for the small but mighty store.

"Hey, Vienna," The curly-headed girl looked up from the records she was sorting and looked to Mr. John. "Lucy and I are going to get some lunch. Would you like something?"

"No, but thank you, sir," Vienna replied politely.

"Alright, I know it's your first day, but do you think you can handle the store while we're gone?"
