You know that feeling when you suddenly absorb so much in that particular fantasy novel that you imagine yourself inside the world? Dreaming how it would feel like to be in that world? Being one of the characters? Me? Likewise. However, it is exceptional for some fantasy novels, such as Hunger Games we take as an example.

As much as we love Katniss, and if you are given a chance to be Katniss in her stead in Hunger Games, would you be? Yes or no? No right?

The same goes for me. I don't want to get involved in this fantasy world with misery, blood, cruelness and, most importantly, manipulators from both sides, wanting to get what they desire the most. One desire for the throne, one yearning for power. I became intrigued with this novel, and I hooked up with two characters the most, it is the Duchesses.

Duchess Medea from the House of Valimos is the protagonist, while Duchess Natalie from the House of Smith is the sub-villainess that will help the main villain.

As in the novel, I also live in a brutal world. I'm just too tired of life anymore. I'm just starting to adapt to adulthood, gasping for air to survive. But, for now, I lost my purpose in the darkness of my life. Being too immersed in my thoughts, I mindlessly walked down the road until it was too late. The excruciating pain spread throughout my body, causing me to groan painfully.

"Somebody call 911!" is the last thing I heard before I passed out. That's my previous vision in this world.

I wake up from my sleep while groaning at my painful body. Of course, that should be expected when you just had an accident, but it is bloody painful! While too focused on my pain, I look up at my surroundings, scrunching my brows with the unfamiliar faces and environments.

'This ain't look like a hospital. So why are they dressing like a maid instead of a nurse? Is this how nurses dress nowadays?'.

My thoughts linger in my head.

Out of the blue, someone said, "Duchess Natalie has woken up! Summon the physician now!"

"What? Duchess Natalie?" I question if I have recalled that name before.

A trainwreck of thought hits me, causing me to panic, stumbling on my way to look at the mirror in the room.

'Why my face looks so different? Did I have plastic surgery after the accident? Don't tell me--'.

Wait, that set of ruby eyes—one of the darkest reds—makes you think of a sea of blood, juxtaposed with flowing, golden hair that glistens in the sunlight. This body exudes charisma and a pleasant aroma. If I've seen something before, where have I read it? I pinch and smack myself awake from this nightmare by shaking my head. As I reflected on the book I'd read, I prayed this wasn't a preview of my future. Instead, it was the first sentence I ever uttered.

"Well, fuck me."

I have becomes Duchess Natalie Wilson Smith from Aurora Diana Parker.

Medea has finished her work and is still wondering how to fix all the messes. She hasn't been herself for quite a while, which is bothering her. The throne seems hard to reach, and the weight of the burden keeps adding up each time. Finally, a letter from the palace has arrived, asking her to visit and take care of the Duchess of Light, Natalie Wilson Smith, from the House of Smith.

Then she orders her servant, Keira, to send the letter and prepare for her visit to the House of Smith.

A wicked grin crossed her face while she thought, 'This should be an excellent opportunity to obtain a new card for the throne.'

This was inspired by the manhwa, Your Throne. Some characters have been added to the stories to match the settings. While some of the main characters, except Medea, have changed their names. Hopefully, you will enjoy it, as this is my first time writing a story.
