Dear Duchess Smith,

It's a good day to share a cup of tea since I have ascended the throne as an Emperor. So much has happened in the past that I can't even fathom it. So, with your significant help, would you like to drink with me this evening?

Emperor Ares James Angelos

The Duchess of Light reads the Imperial letter and lets out a chuckle in disbelief. Natalie grips the side of the letter, wrinkling it. Her hands ignite a fire, burning the letter with her fire. But something peculiar happens. The letter flies away instead of burning in ashes. She takes a good long look at it before putting out her hand to grab the message.

She gives it another quick once-over, intent on setting the letter on fire. Yet, it flies over from her hand.

"What is happening?"

Natalie was mid-ponder when she was startled by a knock on the door. After a little pause, she says, "Come in." after clearing her throat.

Daphne comes out of the door and politely bows to the blonde woman. In typical fashion, she is beaming with happiness today.

"What would you like to wear to the Imperial Palace this evening, Your Grace?" Natalie's face hardens again at the question.

The unexpected events caused her to completely disregard it. Daphne becomes aware of this when an instant scowl emerges on her face. The woman also overlooks that the blonde has changed into a cold-hearted woman again. However, deep in her heart, she believes and puts her faith in something, that Natalie will become a warm person soon.

"I'll wear my black suit and prepare my coat."

At the Imperial Palace

The Duchess of Light breathes in as much fresh air as she can before the atmosphere around Ares suffocates her. So she won't go crazy when her magic starts to pour through her veins, she trains herself to maintain composure under pressure. Strangely, she has been able to sense something is up with her power recently. For instance, the recent happening.

"Duchess Natalie," the Emperor's disgusting voice makes Natalie wants to dive into a swamp rather than spend her time here.

"Greetings to the sun of the Empire, Emperor Ares," she briefly greets with a monotone voice.

The man extends his hand, offering her to take it. The ruby eyes turn her sight at hand, the hand that killed the love of her life mercilessly. Now, he acts like something doesn't even affect him over what happened in Autumn. Like the lives, he is taken meaningless.

Regardless, the woman summoned every physical strength to force herself to form a smile while taking the man's hand. Both of them proceed to the Imperial Garden, reaching the table with servants standing and waiting for them on the side. Acting as a gentleman, Emperor Ares takes Natalie's chair first, offering her to have a seat.

"Leave us. I want to talk alone with Duchess Smith," he orders to dismiss them as soon as he takes his seat.

After a moment, Natalie glances around. The Imperial household staff does an excellent job decorating and polishing the place. They picked out a lovely place in the Imperial Garden, under the greenhouse, surrounded by blooms. However, little did he know the place that he brought her over to was the place where she saw him and Medea kiss. Her lungs continue to squish at the mere idea.

"This winter is colder than last year, don't you think?" Ares begins his trash talk again, but Natalie has to hold it.

"Yes," she said, sipping hot tea as the heat spread through her body.
