Chapter XVI

"So you're telling me that Nas is in these streets like his name Big Meech" Venus asked laughing

"That's exactly what I'm telling you girl. I don't know if Carter and Noah are but how close they are I wouldn't be surprised" Rhyan replied her eyes went over to Ivy who simply shrugged her shoulders

"I mean if he is. I don't want to know. I'm not trying to be a witness to anything. I didn't hear or see a thing" Ivy said taking a sip of her caramel latte

"Amen to that. You pretty bitches not made for prison and Ivy we know orange is not your color" Venus cracked causing Rhyan to laugh

Wagging her finger Rhyan tried to stop herself from laughing. "Girl you did eight hours in Cook County jail and you think you know everything" Ivy chuckled sticking her middle finger up at Venus

"Didn't you go to jail for keying Jarrell's car and busting out the windows ?" Rhyan asked laughing at her friend's outrageous actions

"He shouldn't had been playing with me like I didn't know any better. But enough about me, how was New York. You didn't bring that up" Venus said changing the subject

Rhyan's eyes lowered to her coffee mug, stirring around the caffeinated beverage she purses her lips for a moment. Although she told the girls about Nasir's selling drugs she didn't mention how she found out the information. They only knew of Juliana's mother bumping into them as they were leaving the hotel. Resting back into her seat Rhyan cleared her throat.

"The trip actually ended early. We came back home on Saturday. We got into a disagreement. Right after i finished talking to Ivy, the woman Angie was waiting for the elevator with me" Rhyan said moving a few stray strands of hair behind her ear "we got in the elevator she seen me press the penthouse button and started going on about how Nasir always had expensive taste, and that I'm nothing but a naive suburban girl that he's going to walk all over. She was the one who told me that Nasir hustles"

"Oh baby that woman would have got hit in her face messing around with me. She sounds bitter as hell" Venus stated shaking her head

"That's what I told her. She is bitter trying to compare what her daughter had with Nasir to what we have now. After that I wasn't feeling it anymore and I confronted Nasir. He confirmed it" Rhyan said leaving out the part of Nasir killing Juliana. That was a secret she planned on taking to the grave "Nasir said he spoke to her about what happened so hopefully I don't have any run ins with her again"

"Aww sorry babe your trip didn't end on a good note. But good riddance to that woman and her drama. I'm happy you and Nasir fixed things though" Ivy said giving Rhyan's hand a soft squeeze

"I am too. We're in a better place now" Rhyan replied looking down at her watch. Her lunch break was almost up. She had a ten minute walk to get back to her office

"I know your lunch is almost over so we'll let you head out. See you later" Venus said leaning over to kiss Rhyan's cheek

"See yall later" Rhyan said standing to her feet.

Rhyan placed on her black Prada trench coat over her body and tied it up. Grabbing her mustard yellow Birkin bag from her chair she blew a kiss to the girls before leaving out of the cozy cafe. Placing her hands into her pocket she began walking back to her office. Although Nasir and Rhyan had a great time seeing Ayden last night made her skin crawl. She was finally in a happy place in her life and all Ayden have been doing is acting like an annoying fly buzzing around. They didn't have anything to talk about so she couldn't grasp why he was trying to speak to her last night.
