mia didn't bother getting dressed, she simply just slipped on her ugg boots and quietly walked through the house, hoping to not wake up her mum, trying to avoid the numerous questions that could be fired her way, but luckily enough, mia walked out the door and closed it behind her, before running up the street then the dirt pathway, though when she made it to the railing, josh wasn't there, he was nowhere to be seen.

mia decides to check the other spot, on the highest point of the mountain, and if he weren't there, she would assume he was asleep still, but it would have been odd considering he's been here this exact time for the past two days.

mia sees the familiar head of brown fluffy hair, and she slowly walks around the bench, and beside josh.

josh looks down at his feet, "why didn't you come last night?" josh asked mia, "did i do something wrong?" he questioned.

"i'm sorry, josh." mia said, looking into josh's eyes, even though they weren't looking into hers.

"my mum came home earlier than expected, and she's going to be here for a day or two." mia explained, "i should've gone to you, i know, but she would've questioned me and it would've been difficult." she added.

mia then, without thinking, took josh's hands into her own.

"trust me when i say, you didn't do anything wrong." mia said, and josh finally looked over to mia for the first time today.

"how can i make it up to you?" mia asked.

"well, when you can, come over to mine, we'll make cookies and look at the stars just as we were going to do." josh said, a small smile managing to make it's way across his face.

"sounds like a plan." mia said happily.

"i'll have to kick the boys out though, they're a handful." josh stated, and mia smiled.

"i'll have to meet them someday." mia stated.

"i could arrange that." josh said with a smile.

josh looked down to their hands, seeing that mia is still holding onto them.

"oh, sorry." mia spoke embarrassingly, pulling her hands away, back into her lap.

"no, it's alright." josh said, taking one of mia's hands and holding it.

they stayed like that for the rest of the morning, watching the clouds move in the sky, until mia remembered that her mum will probably be awake soon.

"i have to go." mia said, slowly pulling her hand away from josh, before standing up.

"wait." josh spoke, standing up, "can i give you my number, so then you can call or message me when you're free?" josh asked.

"yeah, sure." mia said, smiling over to him.

mia then pulled her phone out of her pocket and handed it to josh, who typed his number into the contacts, and handed back to mia.

"i don't like to use my phone often, but if it's to keep in contact with you, then i don't mind." josh said, and mia smiled at this comment.

"thank you."' mia spoke, and eventually the two went back down the hill and separated from there.

mia walked through her front door and luckily enough her mother wasn't awake, so mia, knowing that cynthia would be awake soon, decided to go back upstairs and get dressed, before going back downstairs to the kitchen to flick the kettle.

after a few minutes, after mia had made two coffees, her mother comes strolling down the stairway, smiling as she saw her daughter place her cup of coffee on a coaster.
