I feel like
All our lives
We've been told we are
One half of a whole
And we need to seek
And find
Our other half
Our soulmate
To truly be happy
To be complete
And this is false
You are already whole
You already complete
There is nothing you are missing
Everything you need
Is right inside of you
Self love is inside of you
But because you believe
You need someone
To get love
You haven't loved yourself
But you don't need anyone's love
You need your love
And if by chance
You meet someone
Who loves you
You can add it
Onto your already complete self
And build it upon yourself
But when you feel like a half
It's so hard to feel complete
People will take advantage of you
Take over your empty 'half'
And because you feel
Incomplete without them
It will feel impossible to leave
So acknowledge this
You are one whole
You aren't a half waiting for the other
You are complete
You are not unfinished
You are all you need
And someone else is a great plus
But you don't need someone
To be your everything
