Side Note: This is set in like magical medieval times. Witches, knights, hunters, guildsmen, guilds, goblins, magical creatures and so on exist. But it's still set in medieval times so .. no cars, technology or anything like that would be known.
She didn't remember much but she felt bless that was the case.
She was in the middle of battle, covered in blood that she no longer knew who it belonged too and just fought to stay alive.
She was meant to be reaching her happy ending after the battle, to have a promised kept.
But, she woke up in hospital.
The demon king was defeated, she knew he was because she defeated him with her guildsmen first. They went straight after the demon king head, knowing that if they took him down first than most of his army would run scared.
Only those loyal or trying to take his thrown would stay and still fight back afterwards and they did.
She was back to back with the one man she trusted most, in body and soul.
He was the assassin of their guild while she was the theif.
Her adopted brother, was the knight, her childhood friend, the mage.
The held a food loving hunter, a horse like knight, a crazed high witch and a overly excited monk.
Their leader .. he died, he was the ranger of their group and died during the first month the group joined as one party.
She watched them die, unable to save them from the fire using ogre that had was summoned by an enemy spell castor. She watched, her heart shattering but she carried on fighting. She couldn't allow anymore to die, not if she could at least save one person from the hands of the powerful foes she stood before.
But that's when the goblin Shamans had decided to foolishly end them all at once with a spell that stole all the air around them. A poison leaking into their bodies, destroying all of their insides at the same time.
She choked, falling to her knees and finding the world turning blurry around her. She remembered throwing the one knife she was keeping for the final foe if needed but she knew she could stop anymore from dying by the goblin Shamans spells.
She let tears leave her eyes, her death more painful than any other could be and her only blessing was that with the Shamans laying dead a few feet away, his spell wouldn't have affected anyone further from those close by .. the spell no longer holding enough power to spread across the whole battlefield.
Her sobs were painful and the blood that forced it's way up her throats burned like larva. She must have screamed in agony like those all around her but her ears were busy ringing as her heart started to feel like it was exploding from within.
She didn't even hear the desperate pleads from the one she loves.
How his hands cupped her cheeks, his back turned to any dangers that came from the battle around them while he cried out her name.
His voice broken as he confessed his love, begging her to keep their shared promise.
He was going to place down his katana for good, to never slay another living being ever again.
She was going to place down her tools and never steal from another ever again.
They would find a cabin to live in, far from anybody else and live in peace.
Become Husband and Wife, have the family they spoke over one night under the stars as everyone else in their party happily slept close to the fire.
They were finally going to gain their own happy ending, to gain a family they'd never lose again.
They promised each other a future.
She would give all of her to him ... While he would give all of him to her in return.
She woke up, a whimper leaping her lips as her hand clutched to her heart.
Her eyes tearing up for a reason she no longer knew over.
Her head throbbed before she laid down, having a calmness washing over her as a warmth wrapped itself around her.
She closed her eyes, picturing such a handsome man smiling gently towards her.
He felt like home for some odd reason but as she opened her eyes again, she was alone.
She was alive, the nurse spoke nothing over the battle or her past.
Simply passing on the guild tags that acted as her id in life and she was sent on her way once she was fully healed.
The town seemed happy, no evil doing to be feared seen.
The war with the demon king was won, the innocent was left as victors.
But she felt defeated, as if she lost the real treasure she was fighting for all this time.
She never did find anyone who knew over her, reaching the guild she was apparently joined too but it seemed her membership had ran out. In fact, she had given her letter of resignation to them just before the battle.
It was her last job done as a guildsmen, she was free.
But free to do what with her life?
She'd never know.
But she kept seeing that man whenever she closed her eyes to sleep.
She lived a life with him that she was never able to live whenever she opened her eyes.
She would feel the bond of a ring around her finger as she slept but came morning, her finger was left empty.
Her lovely little cabin she lived in with him was nothing more than a tiny home on the edge of a town that never felt like a true home to her, not like the cabin in her dream did.
She never did ... fall in love like she did with that man in her dream.
And, the day she came close to her death, she was given her memories.
How he had kept a secret from her, one all assassins secretly held.
Merging their body with someone else, a form to survive if they became deathly injured.
To steal another person organs for their own body, to steal flesh for their ruined one.
It was a way of survival that only worked once in a lifetime for them.
And he .. he selfishly used it to save her.
Instead of taking from her body, he gave her body his own.
He kept his body .. he gave her all of him to her.
And she was left crying as she took her final breath in this life, promising to keep their promise in the next life.
But he
