It was over.

They had stopped the rumbling.

It was all .. finally .. over.

She couldn't believe it, never expected to be standing here once everything was finally finished. Everything was still dusty and steamy as everything was left to settled once more. She saw outlines of people, alive, still breathing, safe in the corners of her eyes and knowing she wasn't the only person to survive.

She wasn't sure if she was overjoyed over other's still standing with her or filling with grief knowing they'd be left as nothing more than survivors for the rest of their lives. Having to live on with the fading memory over everyone and everything they've lost to reach this point.

A groan finally had her feet moving by themselves.

It was pained, worn and familiar.

Humanity's strongest.

Her Captain.

Levi Ackerman.

He was alive, just like she was.

She didn't bother to question why her feet moved towards him instead of her legs racing to try and find Armin instead.

Maybe she was scared, scared to lose another family if she only found Armin's remains. She couldn't handle losing another family member, related or not. It'd destroy her more than killing Eren did.

Levi was safe, her safe place.

He understood, he knew and he was honest but chased away the bad when she wasn't brave enough to face it just yet. He carried her burdens when she came to hide around him, let his own strength, fame and power shadow her own.

She was just worth a hundred men, he was the wings of freedom themselves to the walls.

He allowed her to just be .. her.

"What now?" Levi asked, barely opening his eyes from where he was slumped but recognizing the warm and callus hands feeling over his wounds.

"You're not meant to make me think about things I'm trying to hide from" Mikasa grumbled back as she pulled her scarf free, wrapping it around his bleeding hand, trying to clog up the wounds left from his missing fingers after he'd reopened his stiches.

"I'm not the nice one between us" Levi reminded her, dully leaning his head to the side of the boulder he sat himself against to look at her easier.

"I don't know" Mikasa finally anwsered, glancing down to his stomach and letting her hands rest on his thigh. Not really not what happens next anymore.
