Don't let go of love

Unless you'd both drown

It was love. 

They both knew it. 

Have for some time now. 

But neither dared to make the first move. 

It wasn't the age gap.

It wasn't the difference in rank.

It wasn't the life changing events happening around them. 

It wasn't due to other people, to the titans or the war. 

It wasn't anything so obvious. 

They had both been loved and felt loved before. 

Their parents had loved them both dearly until the end. 

They've loved their family and friend's with everything they had, even as their hearts were ripped from them with each death. 

They were afraid of love. 

Because they knew a terrible truth. 

Not all love stays pure and warmth. 

Love can be painful. 

Love can be brutal and hurt. 

Love can be dark, twisted and terrifying. 

Love can break a person as much as it saves them. 

Love can drown you and soak any joy and warmth away until you're left empty inside. 

Love wasn't simple. 

It was an unknown. 

Balanced with luck. 

As someone who sounded wised once said... 

"Well, Love is a tricky old thing. One can not control who they love nor can they control when they fall out of love. There's so many different forms of love and so many different feelings to it that .. I don't think love holds one answer and never has"

And they both knew that. 

Deep down, they understood it. 

They'd risk it if the other made the first move instead. 

But how could the other make the first movie if both thought the same. 

Their love was falling apart before even given a chance. 

Until they finally accepted their fates. 

"'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

A saying that could be both right and wrong. 

But they chose to love and risk one last lost then to die with a new regret. 

And Tis better to have loved and kept as their fate so be it.
