A man lives
All his life at the foot of the mountain.
Through the great depression. Through wartime. Through all the revolutions that seemed to be thousands of miles away even though the ripples worked their way through town and through the countryside as sure as anything.
A man's children grow up and have children.
A man lives through all this just to die in a farming accident at the foot of the mountain.
