And mighty men
Descended from patriarchs
Descended from amoeba
Descended from God Almighty.
We liked to chat
He and I
About things
We believed to be important
But no more than once a week.
But his wife stopped coming around
And he worried
And he visited her
And as everyone does
She passed away.
Before we all knew it
Before we celebrated her life
Before the plans were made
And set
He joined her
And we wished them off together.
I read that book
And I think about him
And her
And that ancient family with those mighty men
And kings
And patriarchs
The connections to
God Almighty.
