(Third-Person POV)

Berlin, Germany

2019.

The group of teens had been wandering the country for a while now. They had since left the populated part of Berlin, and had now reached the outskirts of the city. The group agreed, after much argument, to stop for lunch at a nearby cafe.

"We need to get on a bus or something, I can't keep walking like this," Sage complained, reading almost everyone's mind. The six teens were all tired, wishing only to have easy travels the rest of the time.

"Well, buses don't appear out of nowhere, do they?" Damon replied, pulling a hood over his dark hair.

"There's a bus stop a little while back," Sage continued. "I'd hope we can all make it there, at least." Once the group finished lunch, they turned around and headed for the bus stop. It was around one, the time when many students in this country got out of school (y'all are making the Americans jealous :> ), so it was easy to blend in with the crowd. When the bus finally stopped, they got on it along with a few other people waiting there. It wasn't long before they came across the neighborhood at which they needed to get off. The bus had, of course, stopped at the corner of one of the streets. This time, the six kids were the only people to get off. The group attempted to look normal in the now open land, where there were fewer crowds to be seen and even fewer groups of chattering students to blend in. Finally, after another half hour of walking, they found what they were looking for. A long driveway, leading to a small house.

"This is it." Lori said, checking the map Luna had swiped from a convenience store they visited after they got off the bus. A young man named Alexander Beck, aged 24 lived here.

"So, we're supposed to go in and say 'oh yeah we're from the future and we need your money.' Like that would work." Damon scoffed, kicking a rock around the driveway.

"No, I don't know what we should say, but we do have to go up there, regardless." Lori responded, stopping the rock under her foot. She waited a moment, before journeying down the large driveway. She tried the doorbell first.

"Ouch!" Lori rubbed her finger in pain, having gotten shocked by an exposed wire. She then tried knocking on the door, with no luck. She was about to knock again, before realizing the door was slightly ajar. She motioned for the others to follow her, pushing the door open to reveal a dark living room. It smelled of cigarettes and alcohol inside, and, something else; a scent Lori couldn't identify. The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years, and as she continued to creep around the living room, she tripped over something. Regaining her balance, Lori turned around to see what she had tripped over. It was too dark to tell.

"D-does anyone have a flashlight?" She asked, checking her own bag for the hope of something to see with.

"Here," Marco turned on a flashlight. The floor of the house was now bathed in the white light. And, something else. Blood. Marco swept the beam over the floor, towards Lori's feet, and stopped. Alexander Beck was dead.

A/N-At least I wasn't gone for a month...right?

Midterms are extremely exhausting, as I have now learned. Luckily, the stress is now over.

I lied-now I have to worry about the Regents exams :)

Help-

Anyway, I'm going to try and update more frequently, apologies again for the long break. Now is where this book starts to pick up, though.

So hopefully I won't be taking super long breaks to write.

Anyway, I hope y'all have had a lot less stressful few weeks than I have, and I'll see y'all next chapter!

Have a great day/night!
