Third Person POV:

"Muzan Kibutsuji."

Zenitsu frowned. He was sure he had heard that name somewhere...

Then he gasped.

He remembered...

Back in merschool he learned this...

-flashback-

"Okay, kids, today we're learning about a legend!" the teacher had called out.

The children eagerly sat down on the carpet, waiting for the teacher to begin the story.

"Legends say that an evil water spirit roams these oceans...it was supposed to die at the last solar eclipse, but it had found shelter and survived..."

"To this day it tried to tempt merpeople to become humans. It wants this to happen so that the population of merpeople will go down..."

"And even if merpeople are not tempted, it will still follow them to change them human."

"If it succeeds in bringing the population of merpeople down...it will absorb the mermaid magic that is left unprotected from the kingdom..."

"His main goal is to become immortal..."

"And if he succeeds in lowering the mermaid population and taking the magic..."

"...it will take over the human world..."

"And rule us all."

A young yellow haired merman raised his hand, and the teacher called on him.

"Teacher? What is the spirit called, and how does it turn us human?"

"Good question, Agatsuma..."

"A red pearl will appear before a certain mermaid or merman and speak to them in their heads. If they touch the pearl, they'll become human, but if they run away, it will still chase them until it touches them."

"And what's its name?" Zenitsu had pushed.

"its name..."

"Is Muzan Kibutsuji."

-end of flashback-

Zenitsu gasped. He looked at the Queen and princess of the merpeople, who looked very grim.

"So if Kanao had been turned human..." Zenitsu began.

"...he has began attacking merpeople once again." Kanae finished, completing Zenitsu's thought. "I just don't understand why he would start attacking us now..." she pondered.

Shinobu added, "Yes, he hasn't attacked our people for a hundred years now. But why...?"

Kanae then gasped. "Could it be...he's after the moon pearl now?"

Shinobu turned pale once again. Kanae had begun swimming towards a locked room into the castle, and unlocked it by putting her hands on the door.

"Zenitsu...I think you'd want to follow us..." Shinobu said, signaling the boy to swim over.

They all swam into a dark room. There, floating on a pedestal, was a glowing, silver pearl.

Zenitsu swam up to the pearl in awe.

"This is the pearl that gives us our magic to be merpeople. It fell from the moon one day, and some fish had turned into half people, half fish." Shinobu said.
