Shinobu walked through the town happily.
Ever since the wedding of her younger adopted sister, she had found herself on the surface more often than usual (which was normally never).
She liked exploring the human town after her visits to Kanao and Tanjiro's place.
Recently, she had been obsessed with the human pharmaceutical area.
She took up a small job, working for free at a little pharmacy owned by a woman named Tamayo.
She liked showing off the mermaid style medicines to her comrade, Yushiro.
Although he didn't really listen, he was busy gazing and simping over Lady Tamayo, as he like to call her.
Lady Tamayo appreciated the mermaid medicines as much as Shinobu did, and they often did their research together (much to the jealousy of Yushiro).
There was one day when Shinobu sat at the entrance counter.
She was fiddling around with a bowl and a small pestle. She was crushing together a human medicine and a mermaid medicine, trying to get a cure to a disease that made scales fall off.
The bell by the door of the shop jingled merrily, signaling that a customer had just come into the shop.
Looking up from her experimental medicine, she looked up to see two dark, ocean blue eyes.
Her heart skipped a beat. She had never seen this customer before.
His black hair was tied back in a messy ponytail, and his face looked a little pale, as if he a had a little cold.
"Um. How can I help you, sir?" Shinobu said calmly, angry at herself that she was turning flustered.
"A simple cold medicine, please." he said quietly, not looking towards the purple haired girl.
"Er...okay." Shinobu said, confused as to why he didn't speak so much.
"Name for the order, please?" Shinobu asked, taking out a small quill and notepad. She dipped the quill into a pot of ink and waited for the man's response.
"Giyu...Giyu Tomioka." he said, still not making eye contact with Shinobu.
For some reason, that irked Shinobu, although she didn't know why.
"Okay then, your order will be ready in an hour." she said, her smile now becoming a tad bit forced.
He merely nodded, looking out the window.
Shinobu immediately began bustling around, preparing the man's medicine.
Sometimes, she would take a moment to look at Giyu.
When she looked in his direction, he seemed that he had been looking at her, but he looked away when she noticed.
Shinobu blushed to herself when realizing this, and she got a little flustered and nearly added too much of an ingredient to the medicine.
Taking a deep breath, she focused herself on being busy with the medicine.
An hour later, Shinobu finished making Giyu's medicine, and she handed it over the counter to him.
He dropped yen on the counter, and took the medicine bottle from Shinobu's hand.
During this trade, their fingers accidentally bumped, and both of them felt a zing of electricity between them.
